As many of you know, I have been working on building the set of 2005-06 UD High Glossy cards /10 for about three years now, yes all 487 cards... haha. I got off to a great start by acquiring both the Crosby and Ovechkin HG rookies fairly early on, and I have been slowly building towards the set ever since. To date I currently have 86/487, still a LONG ways off from the ultimate goal, though I enjoy the chase of finding each card just as much as actually acquiring them. Having acquired both of the biggest cards early on, I didn't necessarily have a current "White Whale" for this set. But as time passes, you get a better sense of what is out there, and which cards are going to prove challenging to not only acquire, but to also track down. Both Crosby and Ovechkin are featured on rookie checklists near the end of the print runs in both series 1 and 2, and after three years of searching daily for these cards, I had only ever seen ONE copy of the high gloss versions combined. That card being a single copy of the Ovechkin-Carter HG CL deep within a PC. I had never laid eyes on a copy of a Crosby-Perry CL HG RC.... That is until a few weeks ago. I was browsing ebay as I usually do when I came across a post selling a Crosby-Perry YG CL, but my eyes were instantly drawn to that familiar golden border with the rainbow finish lettering... LISTED AT $9.99!!!!! I have never hit the BIN button so fast in my life!!!!!! There was absolutely no mention of it being a high gloss version anywhere, but I recognized it instantly. Part of it could be that it seems the checklists were not stamped with a serial number since there is no room on the back, if anyone can confirm this belief I`d love to hear it. Here is the only copy of this card I have ever seen....

I have no idea how much these may be worth in today`s market considering how huge price jump for Crosby YGs lately (Would love to hear opinions in the comments below), all I know is that the Crosby-Perry Checklist is FAR rarer and harder to find than his YG HG card. Lately I haven`t had too much luck bidding on some other HG and UD Game Patches for my sets, but this win more than makes up for those losses. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of other high gloss cards from this set, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
