A «*Wayne Gretzky «* award

They created the Rocket trophy about twenty years ago for most goals scored in a season. Why not create the Gretzky award for most assists in a season. His assist record will never be broken! Shouldn’t there be a trophy named after the most highly decorated NHLer of all time? Just a thought.

I think there could be something, but an award for most assists? That's not really representative of Gretzky's place in hockey history. The Art Ross should be renamed The Wayne Gretzky award given that he owned it for the better part of a decade and his points record will also never be approached.

That said - I think the NHL has too many trophies as it is... we don't need more. Just make better use of the one's that exist.

And Rocket Richard was way more than goals! I like the idea of an assists trophy. Assists are always overlooked and they should be celebrated more!
