Beckett's price guides....which price is it???

I am really getting tired of Beckett's games they play. I have had at least 5 trades in the past couple of weeks where the Beckett values of certain cards are TOTALLY different between the Beckett magazine (whether it is the huge PLUS or just the Hockey PLUS) and Beckett's online price guides.

Why can't they just have the same prices across the board since they are the same damn company!!!! Lucic's YG books for $30 in the OPG and is not even listed in the Beckett PLUS but is listed at $15 in the Hockey Plus....come on which is it???!!!! Krejci's Hot Prospects Auto/Patch RC is listed at $50 on the OPG but isn't listed in either magazine....same with Lucic which is just plain stupid! Lucic should be a lot more than Krejci IMO and right up there with some of the other players that are actually listed.

Someone please try and give me a good reason why they do this! I know Beckett is just a guide but when you are trying to work out a deal and one person says one thing and the other person says another which are you supposed to believe???

i cancelled my OPG and go by the Mag beckett Hockey only now....OPG changes like the wind...and FYI...i only use the Beckett for trades and Ebay for sales or just a % of Beckett unless it is a 1/1

I have seen several instances of these types of errors.
I have gotten into arguments over value.
I go with the Hockey Card Plus because it's printed. The online prices seem outdated by a few months and seems no have been updated in about 6 months....maybe problems at Beckett have been more widespread than originally thought.

But, I am sure there are some who will argue for other versions, probably the one with the higher values....

I really only try to use it when trading as it makes it easier to deem a fair trade for both parties. It seems as though Beckett is in a total tailspin, though.

$30 for the Lucic YG RC is just crazy....I have never seen a sale on ebay go remotely close to that. So if they are going by completed sale they don't have a leg to stand on. I honestly don't understand why the YG's values from only this year have shot up so much....why not the years before??

From experience the printed monthly version is usually the most relevant..

Monthly is probally better but in lot of cases,the price guide goes out the Window anyway. Depends on how much someone will give up to have the card they want
