2012-13 O-Pee-Chee Wrapper Redemption Program Announced for Canada

Wayne - the notices that were sent out did say "Hobby" only.

Ramjak - I believe the boxes this year have 32 packs (12/32/8), not 36.

I am glad to see there are doing this as anything to promote the hobby is FINE BY US. Thanks UD. As a CDD, we look forward to participating in this promotion.

lol I just realized that UD has graciously volunteered us to pay for the shipping of these wrappers to them for our customer without actually stating so. How nice

But I see what they are doing by trying to get the customers to come into the store and create more traffic. What they really need to do is a redemption program live in store like what ITG offers. Now THAT drives in business.

I received my notices from my distributors on Monday, same as you, I'm assuming. That blog post went up and out to the public on Friday, I think.
 
Nice of them, some of the shops will likely charge that back to the customers. If they do I won't bother with the redemption. It should help increase sales for shops as I was considering buying a box and since I heard of the redemption offer I have decided to buy 2 boxes. So I went from considering buy 1 box to buying 2 boxes to get enough packs to qualify for the redemption. However if UD makes me pay for the shipping I won't bother with buying any boxes.

No the shops will do the shipping on their dime and they better not charge it back. That is just wrong IMO.
I know that we are shipping them in bulk for our customers. BUT I will gently "suggest" that only wrappers purchased at our store be redeemed through us.

I know of a store close by that is not offering to send these in, and they sell 10x the wax product we do. I will gladly do it for their customers, but as long as they become MY customers....lol
 
Would you only require the UPC code? That would certainly help cut down the cost as 50 upc could easily fit in a small envelope where 50 packs would require a bigger envelope thus more shipping cost?
 
No, I'm sure most stores will eat the cost of the shipping (we are, for instance). Because they will have to be sent with tracking, however, we're going to send them in in groups every couple weeks or so. I know I have a guy at the store breaking a case today.
 
I don't see shipping as much of an issue - the wrappers weight next to nothing so when you package up once a week - it will not be that big of a deal...

I guess we will find out soon enough... Doug is busting his case here and Tim will be bringing his case's worth in. Plus the other cases sure to be opened here in the next few days - Canada Post will be put to the test... LOL
 
I agree about the shipping, aside from it'll have to be traced, which is a minimum of $10 every time you shoot something out the door.
 
Any CDD willing to help a feller' out from NJ? I will be more than happy to hook you up with the S&H cost each way, as I have about a case or so worth or wrappers. If so, can you PM or post?

Have 2 cases worth of wrappers sitting here. Want to echo the previous poster's inquiry into whether there might be a shop up north that might be willing to redeem my wrappers for packs.
