2018 Stanley Cup Final: Capitals vs Golden Knights

Part of me wants to see Vegas win for history's sake, but another part of me thinks an expansion team shouldn't win in their first year. I don't really know how I feel about Vegas. As for the Caps I wouldn't mind seeing Ovie win a Cup because he's earned it. So have guys like Backstrom and Holtby.

I'm leaning towards wanting the Caps to win but logic tells me Vegas will win. They've dispatched everybody they've faced pretty easily, have only lost a few games all playoffs, and have come into every series rested and ready for whoever is coming.

This will either be a hard fought Caps win in seven games or a Vegas steamrolling in five games.

It's a tough one. I want Washington to win - for Ovi for sure. I believe they can, but I think this is more of a "heart" thing. My head is saying somehow Vegas will pull it off. I stopped doubting them awhile ago. They seem unstoppable. I don't think it will be a quick series - 6 or 7 games. But then again, Ovi is a man on a mission this playoffs. I guess anything can happen.

I've done such a terrible job picking winners this year that I can't see an obvious victor. If it goes long, rough and tumble, I expect the Caps to pull it off. If MAF posts a shutout in the first two games, they'll lock the series up.

I will not offer a prediction. But I'm super excited to see the Caps make it. As I was only 10 when they last got to the final, but this time I will be making it to Game 3 to support and cheer them on!!!!
