96-97 Donruss Rated Rookie Gold Press Proofs?

Been hearing that these are damn hard to find, so thought to share, though there are no "better" players included. Any information on where these originally came from would be nice.

I can't remember how many boxes of that 1996-97 Donruss stuff I've opened. I have gotten tons of gold press proof cards, but never one of the rated rookies. Congrats on your good fortune. If you have any of the base I still need #56 and a bunch of the inserts.

sorry, don't have #56 for you. The trick with these was that these were never inserted into packs. First time I saw a pic of these was back in '96 or '97 when beckett featured the Alfredsson pic with a story of Daniel. That's how I started my hunt for Sykora card (& was able to pick these + sykora, too back in late 90's or early 2000 from ebay),
