Any interest in a YG Stamkos for a YG Tavares?

not sure how many people will be receptive to that trade, but gl! Tavares is lookin mighty fine and his YG is certainly to keep in the PC!!!
 
as far as sales values...
from ebay completed sales
stamkos around $30...as high as 43
tavares around $80....as high as 90

You think it will book more than Ovechkin, or Malkin's YG's? The lopsided ebay sales are due to it being a brand new product that has a rookie that is currently doing well, and everyone just has to have it, NOW! :rolleyes: Once these rookies get flooded on the market several months from now, the 2 Tavares/Stamkos should be pretty close BV, IMO. Tavares may be a bit higher. The way UD was handing out replacements for the damaged ones at The Expo, it's hard to believe any of this year's YG's are gonna be limited. They seem to have a whack of them in reserve from reports I've seen. Now is not the time to buy a Tavares YG. Patience Grasshopper! I vividly remember Luke Schenn YG's selling for $25-$30 on ebay when they first dropped. How much are they selling for now? I know it's not a good comparison (Schenn/Tavares), but this is usually the case every year with these rookies. Other products come out, interest lessens, tons of the UD product gets opened, and price drops. Anyone who pays $90-$100 for a Tavares YG right now is insane, IMO. He's no better a player so far, than Toews, or Kane. How much are their YG's selling for now? I think Tavares YG's should be $80-$100 BV tops. I may be wrong, but that is what I value it at in my mind. What Beckett says isn't the law, but many cattle follow it to a T.

Stamkos is actually putting up better numbers than Tavares.

As a rookie #1 overall pick I can understand why Tavares commands more bv.
 
I didn't think that this thread would bounce around that much opinion!
I am going to have to stick with Leafsfan1967 & tarponman2.
I do not believe Tavares will get a spot on the Olympic team but Stamkos best or the executives at Hockey Canada need to shake their heads.

Some very good points made here. Look at how much the Crosby YG dropped after awhile. This one will follow the same path, but won't reach the same heights as the Cros YG.
 
My only comment is as to why in the world some members have chosen to make comments concerning the value of these cards ON MIKES' TRADE THREAD.

This is not the place to voice your opinions on his request - unless you actually talking trade with him.

Please show him the proper respect and start your own thread - I am ABSOLUTELY certain one can go to some of your threads and make comments too. The rookie card market is a volatile free market and prices can change in the blink of an eye. Feel free to diacuss them in the Hobby Talk section.

Not sure if you are referring to me, but my comments were solely to help the author of this thread, and his trade request. I wasn't one of the members critcizing his request, and in fact I don't think it's that far off, IMO. It seems off to those critical, because of what it is currently selling for, but if everyone took a second to look at the big picture, and how the UD Yg's usually work every year, they'd see that in fact in a month or two these two cards should be very close value wise in comparison. In fact, it is entirely possible the Stamkos will be worth more in 6 months. Nobody knows what the future has in store. I can see both sides, and how you could argue either way, but as you state this is not the place to do so. On the bright side, the posts are keeping it at the top, so really everyone is helping him, so to speak.

Mike good luck getting your card, my man. If I had a copy of either of the two I'd help you out. Still hoping to pull both, and if I do I will yell at you!

I have a few Stamkos YG's laying around so if you do come across a Tavares, and wish to part with it, let me know.

Oh i think Stamkos is a better plaer, he's having a great year! Tavares just has the big focus and is "the card" to get this year. I agree that the price people are paying for the card is high and that will drop, but from a hobby standpoint even when Tavares wasn't in the NHL...his cards were still the "one" to pull. I think we all know that Lucic will be taking the top spot for Canada :)

Absolutely, will do. :beer: I bought 2 blasters yesterday, but got 2 no namers in one, and Del Zotto, and D.uchene in the other. That is all I've bought so far, but let's be honest, there will be more. LOL!! Not sure why the mods need to lock this. It's a friendly discussion amongst hobby enthusiasts on your thread, and you are okay with it. Until someone gets personal with another member, locking a thread is rediculous, and I'm gonna shut up now because Q already knows how I feel about mods locking threads, that could be cleaned up by them with their edit/delete tools. :rolleyes:

By the way, I have a nephew Jimmy Brooks, and his fiancee Amy Lucyk that lives up in your area that you may, or not know. Her family have a butcher shop in Huntsville (it may be closed down now) Be weird if you knew them by chance. LOL!!

From a business perspective - I would be willing to trade you a Tavares YG for 2 Stamkos YG's.

Even up - not a chance.

From - who is the better player..... Let's look at Malkin, Ovechkin and Crosby. BV's certainly don't reflect back on who is the better player.

For the record - I think 10 years from now, even with 1 less year in the league and no talents like St.Louis and Lecavalier on his team, Tavares will have more points than Stamkos.
