Here's the linkie loo......

There very well could be a change of ownership on the horizon for the Edmonton Oilers. Sources tell TSN that local billionaire Daryl Katz has submitted an offer again to buy the franchise outright from the Edmonton Investors Group.

The Edmonton Journal reports the offer is worth over $170 million Cdn.

It isn't the first time Katz has taken a run at getting in.

Well it would be good to have the ownership under one roof per say.

Hope he moves the team to Halifax... ;) :p

A billionaire owner instead of a bunch of investors who penny-pinch would be a better fit for Edmonton... that way he could potentially throw a few more shekels out for some star players to be woo'ed to the city.

Bruce - from everything being said, there's no point in adding it to the salaries, what he needs to do is invest in an upscale shopping district, improved night life, a theatre district (I guess beachfront property is out of the question). After all it's the wives that need to be sold on Edmonton.
