Well, it's over a week late, and certainly a dollar short, but it's picture time!
Here's my pictures from the 20th Running of the Molson Indy Toronto, that I was, of course, in attendance for.
I love the indy, what's not to love, fast cars, beautiful women (I think I have those prefixes in the right order) and just a whole buncha fun in the sun. If you're a race fan, The Toronto Indy is for you.
So, without furthur adieu, some pictures from the indy!!
^ whoops
Track goes the other way there PT
I love those pictures, if I could get a better camera, I think it would look awesome, with the CN tower, the Canadian flag (at half staff for the tragedy in London) and the cars in the foreground.
^ see the TV, that was AWESOME, guy had it set up and on the race broadcast the whole time, got to follow everything going on.
For anyone who watched the race, those are the two cars that kinda...met at high speed.
Mario's car was trashed, got to look at it pretty close while they were breaking it down in the garage. AJ's wasn't as bad, but still, nicely wrecked. (Mario's is the blue, AJ the yellow)
Now, The Maple leafs usually set up at the indy, and have some sort of dealy going on. This year however, with the lockout and not having access to NHL'ers, they decided to promote the Marlies who will be coming to town next season.
With their booth setup, they brought in some players....
^ Mark Moro
^ Carlo Colaiacovo, not sure what the girl did taking this picture...
^ Matt Stajan, extremely nice, him, Carlo and Moro were really cool.
^ Toronto's favourite (or 2nd, depends how much you like Mr. Shack), Wendel Clark!
^ Me hanging out on Andrew Rangers car.
All those players also signed auto's on Marlies postcards, thankfully, as I didn't have access to cards, or anything wise for them to sign.
^ he signed on the back, bleh, the rest signed on the cool side.
Colaiacovo
Mark Moro
Stajan
The new coach, Mr. Paul Maurice
The Boss, John Fergusson
So, it was a pretty good weekend @ the Indy,
I always love it, I was debating not going this year, but with 20% off ticket prices, and the ever present possibility that it may not come back, I went, and I couldn't be happier that I did.
I got a massive sunburn on friday on the one spot I missed with the suntan lotion, stupid golf shirts, but aside from that, and a TON of walking, excellent fun, year in and out.
I also got a whack of Driver autographs, but I doubt anyone really cares.
Some real good driver sigs, including the Winner Justin Wilson
if anyone really cares about the driver sigs, on the driver cards (like 8x10's for the most part) I can try and take some photos, but not tonight, I'm all scanned/photo cropped out.
Thanks for looking
