Sorry if you don't like long reads, but I felt inspired to type tonight.
Here is my show & tell of the best by far collection that I have ever seen.
I wish I had more time to show things like this, when my Sens win their first of many cups, I hope to have a basement that rivals this one.
Unfortunately for me, but fortunate for my wife, I cannot even hope to dream of having a fraction of the things that adorn this room.
Although I will be adding commentary, the pictures really speak for themselves.
I am proud to show of the collection of a customer that loves to share his collection.
Likely one of the most interesting & unique collections that I will ever see.
I will start somewhat backwards in clockwise order from entering this magnificent hockey shrine.
the game used stick collection.
Every 8x10 photo you will see adorning the walls is autographed.
If I recall correctly, every Game used stick is also autographed.
The collector's brother-in-law was the equipment manager for the St. Louis Blues.
Not seen here are Gretzky and Lemieux gamers... the Lemieux is from the Stanley Cup finals... the Gretzky is an aluminum Easton with the 'Gretzky Gripper'
The collector's primary collection is game-used pucks. On the left is a grouping of Gamers not worthy of display
the card collection.
Again, more game used or official game pucks. I absolutely love the Shirriff coin display. The cards look uber sharp displayed in binders on...
what's that?
Dasher boards from an AHL arena.
Oh ya, I've seen that before in a collection.
Show me something I haven't seen.
Really? Those are all game used masks eh?
Weak!
Below the card binders are yet more game used jerseys.
The proud owner with his collection.
And yet again, more game used or official game pucks.
More game used masks eh?
Thought I was impressed?
Well, that Leafs score clock just changed my mind
Autographs on the boards eh?
Ok, I concede... that's really cool.
Lines & face-off circles painted on the floor.
That's cool.
Almost too cool.
Why?
Cause the kids are going to want to play hockey amongst thousands upon thousands of dollars of memorabilia, etc.
Ok...
I am speechless now.
What more is there to say?
But I have a question...
What's that shiney Silver thing in the corner?
What?
What!
The personal Stanley Cup awarded to players after they win Lord Stanley's Mug!
Geez.
Got anything else that you think will impress me?
To make a long story short, he does.
To the tune of 60's & 70's Ottawa Rough Riders Game Used jerseys, mini Grey Cups, Grey Cup rings & a Stanley Cup Ring.
Oh ya, the Stanley Cup itself has been at center ice in his basement.
His Dad played for the Ottawa Rough Riders - CFL.
His brother won a Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
If you happen to read/see this & happen to be a criminal - don't even think about it.
He's one of the top cops in the area that he lives in.
Anyone else got an impressive room to show off?
I dream of having this basement, or a reasonable facsimile with Ottawa Senators memorabilia.
