Blues fire Hitchcock, promote Yeo

Mike Yeo was always next in line, but he's taking over sooner than originally planned.

The St. Louis Blues have dismissed head coach Ken Hitchcock and named Yeo his immediate replacement, general manager Doug Armstrong announced Wednesday.

When Yeo was hired as associate coach last summer, Armstrong initially said the former Minnesota Wild head coach would succeed Hitchcock as Blues bench boss after this season and "for three years after that."

However, the move was made now with St. Louis having lost five of six games and sitting last in the NHL with a team save percentage of .887.

The team will turn on him is less than two years. Yeo has not balls to speak up. He won't sit star players for not doing there job. He has not backbone. He showed that in Minnesota. I was never a fan from the beginning when he was hired here. I called for him to be let go after year one.

When your star players hire another former NHL star to come and work with them that's saying something.

Good luck St. Louis. I don't see this going well

Bye bye Hitch you deserved a better send off than your current- former lackadaisical idiots gave you!
