it depends on when. more than likely, if he's picked up, it'll be done when the new team only has to account for half of his contract. either way, dallas wins. erm...they still lose, but it's the best they'll get in moving his contract somewhat.
 
they should have just cut their losses and assigned him to the unemployment line.

Hopefully he realized how lucky he is and now he shuts his mouth and stops acting like a douche on the ice.

If the NHL wants to be the athletic version of the Jerry Springer Show, then you are correct.
 
Players like him are great for any team looking for a spark. Matthew Barnaby was the same way. He draws players into the box, can produce a fair amount of points, and is the flint that sparks the fire.
 
Matthew Barnaby didn't mention his sloppy seconds, a player should also show respect OFF ice, whatever happens on ice I could care less about, but off ice players should have some level of respect.
 
I agree. All professional athlete's should respect each other off the ice. As we are trying to sell this game or ours, things like this only put it in the wrong direction.
It would be great if he could learn to shut is pie hole. If this was to happen, he could be a positive addition to many teams.
 
Why does every Avery thread turn into this crap.....God now I understand how all the sidiots feel when people call him a crybaby....I can't wait for Avery's return...He is a great fit for the Rangers and there record with him in the line-up shows it....

You know, you shouldn't call Crosby's fans sidiots with the intent of actually calling them idiots. You'll find yourself with your pals Jeary and Metrags.
 
I think if he came back next year, I'd be willing to give him another chance. But it is only a matter of time until he does something to get himself in trouble again, even after the personality rehab and apologies. You can paint a garbage can gold, but it's still a garbage can.

I do not think that GM's around the league care about you giving him a second chance. If the gold plated garbage pale can lift a teams mentality enough to possibly move them closer to securing a playoff spot, he's in.
 
Sean Avery is a pretty nasty guy and should really learn some manners and general common courtesy. Having said that, as a hockey player he will definitely add some grit to the Rangers lineup and would definitely help. When he's on the ice, I will cheer for him and the Rangers. When he's off the ice, I couldn't care less about him.
