Canada Post!!!

It seems like you can't send cards with regular mail from Canada to USA anymore. I think it's always been like that but officially since end of January they don't accept anything anymore. Anyone has any advice or you just have to ship as a package and pay 10-15$ even for 2$ cards?

I’m am sure some are still sending using letter mail and getting some through but technically as soon as there is anything other than paper (including the plastic bubble mailer) in there it needs to be sent small packet air which is approximately $10 after tax.

It’s frustrating because people get upset at the cost and think it’s unreasonable when I charge $9 on eBay but I actually lose money each time I mail to the USA but I try to keep it at that price to at least compete.

Low end to the US I am doing plain white envelope with base cards protecting. Have sent maybe 20 since the switch over with none coming back.

You need to provide Chit Chat with invoices before sending. Too much work to be fair. It should just be bring and ship.

You can just put the invoice inside the bubble mailer. It's easy. I absolutely love this service. Full tracking for less than $7.

The nice lady at the Canada Post where I am literally wrote "paper" on the bubble mailers. All of them got through at the normal rate. But I've heard lots of packages coming back with improper postage.

Oh, this I did not know. I was told that I had to provide them the invoice.

ChitChats is not available in my area, but I would love to use them!

I have been sending low-end cards in paper-manila envelopes (the ones used for dollar bills) with a top-loader and a corrugated foam-like material (like the stuff covering new appliances or TVs, computers etc in the box.) on eBay to Canada I charge $1.50, USA $2.00 and Europe $3.50. I have been able to send thick cards such as 20-21 Stature to Slovakia, Czechia and Poland without a problem about 5-6x. I have sent to USA about 20x without a problem and about 50-60x to Canada. I usually sell much more to Canada than
USA over the last 10 years, so I think this shipping amount I charge has brought in a lot more US buyers for low-end singles.

I have yet to be able to purchase the corrugated foam-like material I use for covering the cards (taped on all sides) that I find when purchase appliances. It is very thin and perfect for sending low-end cards. I have found rolls of similar material, but thicker, at Dollarama for $5 a roll. It works.

I Cannot send a card as thick as 'The Cup' but the next thickness-size lower than that I have been able to send.

I use DYK Post which is similar to Chit Chat for USPS. $6-$7. I can also send it tracked packet for $10 with bubble mailer under 100 grams using eBay or Shippo shipping via Canada Post.

For low-end deals to USA, I use PWE now. I put the card in a tapped sleeve, between 2 thin cardboards.

I just put sports cards as merchandise and put an invoice inside the packages. Never have an issue.

I use a rigid hard board style envelope which are used for sending 4x6 photos. I bought a hundred of them off eBay for like $30 dollars. I costs me $2.40 in stamps to ship from the States to Canada. I just don’t use top loaders, but use penny sleeves and team bags so it is thin enough to fit through there machines as a envelope and it doesn’t have much weight and thickness to it. The envelope gives all the protection you need. I have never gotten a complaint about stuff being damaged in shipping. Its nice because you don’t have to deal with the customs forms. It’s worth a shot.

That's odd. I package my stuff up online, and just drop it off at my Chit Chats location. I put Merchandise and trading cards as the contents, and never been advised to include an invoice under $300.

I use the $1.94 stamp within Canada, but the post office clerk prints out a label for bubble envelopes going to the U.S. ($3.19 plus tax) and overseas ($6.39).
I haven't had any issues either, fortunately.
