MEGA UPDATE:

Shawn (djsportsco) will be taking over the service and trust me, you are all in great hands. He also wanted me to let everyone know that he'd be willing to offer a 10% discount to anyone who wanted to join up with him. If you ship over the border a lot, it's worth it.

Best of luck to everyone!

UPDATED: No longer offering this service for the time being. If I pick it back up, I'll be sure to post here. Thanks all!

Well I'm your man.

I know that these days, shipping charges on eBay can get pretty outrageous, especially north of the border. I'm here to help you get your cards at reasonable shipping prices (and since I live in the States, the majority of things sent to me will include a fairly cheap tracking option to ensure that it arrives here safely). Here's how it works:

For a small fee, you can have anything you want sent my way and I will send it to you. Don't want to pay $15 to have something from the States shipped to you? Don't. Have it sent to me, instead.

The Breakdown

Of course, you cover shipping charges from me to you but in addition to that, here's how it'll work:

The once-in-a-while: For those who only make a few purchases a month, add $2 per package sent to me.

The regular: For those of you who make consistent purchases, $5/mo will cover you for up to 10 packages per month.

The mega-buyer: and finally, for those of you who find yourself buying, buying, buying, $10/mo will cover you for anything over 10 packages.

Shipping adds up. If you find yourself making purchases on the regular, shaving $5-$10 off of each purchase adds up quickly and can go towards additional items or be saved and be used to build a throne of money. Whatever floats your boat, but a money throne sounds pretty awesome if you ask me.

Post here or PM if you're interested.

Ryan

UPDATED with FAQ:

What shipping methods are you comfortable with? Whatever you're comfortable with. You want it registered? Registered it is. Just remember that shipping costs come back to you, but I will happily send however you ask.

How often will you ship? As often as once per week if you so desire, typically Saturday. If I can't do it until the next week for whatever reason, I'll let you know.

Can you assist with cases? Why yes, yes I can. PM me to discuss.

When are payments due? My fees are due up front. I don't think that's outlandish given how low the fees are. As for covering shipping costs, I will send and PM you with the damage. I'd like to see paypal back in my account within a handful of days.

I approve of this message and fully endorse this service. Saved me oodles (easily high double digits if not more) in shipping fees over the last few months.

Amen to that. Drama has been helping me in this regard for months. SCADS OF MONEY SAVED ON SHIPPING. To say nothing of getting a lot less grief from US sellers.

Edit: Drama typically ships to me about once a month. On average there's 20-25 items per package. Instead of $7 per item ($140-175 shipping), I pay an average of $2 per item ($40-50 shipping) plus a single charge of about $25 for Drama to send the package. Net savings to me about $100.

Not shabby. That's an extra shiny, right there.

I'm definitely interested and would like more details.

How often would you typically ship to me, if I was say, a "regular"?

And I would use your address when making my Paypal payment?

Thanks,
Myles

I already have a member who does this for me but it is good to see the hobby helping each other out as shipping fees escalate.

Ryan has been a class act since I met him on HI, and in fact, he has helped me tremendously with bolstering my collection.

It's difficult when you see a PC item that either has enourmous shipping charges to Canada, or simply won't ship to Canada. However, here is the resolution to the problem.

Thanks again, Ryan!

Fantastic gesture here!
I'm also lucky who have a kind member here who has helped me A LOT at lately with those insane and never-ending increasing non-outside USA ebay-shippers and those GSP's etc...

It's indeed a tough time for us who lives in wrong countries now.
Keep up the great job!

Living in Hong Kong makes this hobby hard, but Ryan's easily saved me over $150 dollars in the past year alone. Given that the entirety of my Corrado collection has only cost a high three figure amount so far, it's been a real big chunk of savings.

cool, going to mark this thread down for sure

I often looking to buy singles from Blowout forum, this will be good !!

Thumbs up to Ryan for offering this! I am close enough to the US border that I can have items shipped to the border and pick them up there but I just might take Ryan up on this.

great idea. how do you deal with the fact that most ebay sellers will only ship to the registered address under your ebay account? in other words, even if i pay and ask them to ship somewhere else, most will say no because their shipping labels get produced automatically and dont want the hassle to change it

thanks

I've added Ryan's address as one of my "ship-to's" in my PayPal account profile. Since the shipping labels are created through PayPal, they will use whatever address is attached to the payment. I haven't had one seller question doing this at all. At worst, they will automatically send me the invoice based on my Canadian address and I just ask them to send another with the U.S. address instead.

Something I feel I ought to add:
The little bit of math I did above there? Applies only to sellers doing straight shipping charges. That doesn't include the (ridiculous, made up and completely usurious) fees generated by sellers using the Global Shipping Program. And when you consider that THAT can add truly attention-arresting charges to your total...

There a few members who have helped me in the past..
Bleedxblue
Harris Sports Cards

As of late Josh (Harris Sports Cards) has been helping me.
Really appreciate having a HI member like this. Since auctions with shipping prices of $13 to hip plus $15 + for import is just ridiculous.
Almost paying close to $30 just to have a card sent to me.
Sooo much cheaper with having HI members in the USA willing to help me out

I do agree it'd nice to see HI members willing to help others out
