Cancellation bids on ebay....getting alot the past couple weeks

I'm with Frank on this... at 12 hours, bids can't be retracted, so wait until then.

and I'll make it a 'Trifecta'....

Just Save the item to your watchlist and at around the 12 hours remaining, submit the bid.. Especially seeing as the watchlist is able to hold awhole lotta auctions now.

Or if you're petty and vindictive like I am - cancel a bid on a real high end card that you've been tailed on about 12 hours and 2 minutes before it ends... :D Not that I would advocate or condone something like that...

How do those snipe's work? Do they charge a certain percentage of the win? The problem is I go out with the family, have poker nights Friday's and other certain things going on most nights that I don't access the internet so that is why I bid when there is around a day left or if I am worried the item will end early because someone emails the bidder.
The new problem that happened last night on that Lucic 1/1 was within 12 hours so that doesn't even make a difference because he still upbid me. I know icouldusomeluck is going to come close to me most times so it normally won't make a difference.

I am going to have a lengthy phone call with ebay in a few minutes!

There's two different pricing models...you can go with AuctionSniper and do a 1% fee based on the final value of the win. They only charge you if you win the item and they have a min charge of 25 cents per auction (if you win). However, if you know your gonna be in a heavy bidding period (i.e. now with OPC Premier and The Cup) you can go with BidNapper which is a subscription based model. You pay one flat fee and you snipe all you want, as many as you want.

Wow guys...I am new to ebay and have heard of shilling but no experience seeing it first hand. Thanks for the education!

justsnipe.com allows you 5 free snipes a week, or you can sign up for a $5 a month membership and get unlimited snipes...this is what I use.

Wow my first day as a board member here and I feel like I am in a Columbo episode. Awesome detective work to all of you guys and gals. I learned more about shill bidding reading this thread than I have in ages.
