Card confusion, black diamond style:)

Hey Guys (and gals),
I have been collecting for many years but i really don't know much about the black diamond 500 goal club regular vs. auto versions. I have a mike gartner auto jersey that I paid book for many years ..yes I paid book a tough card to find. Below is a link to a guy selling the complete set and woooowowowo is it amazing! But the auto gartner version isn't numbered? mine is #22/25. Can someone explain, are there 2 signed versions?

I don't think those are pack pulled auto jersey's. I have seen alot of these and the pack pulled ones are numbered. On top of that majority look to be done with the same pen/marker

Any that weren't numbered were likely kept back for replacements - how they were obtained, who knows? But the packed out ones were numbered - at least the ones I've seen pulled.

Looks like more of the backdoored stash that surfaced about 5 years ago. There was a seller (from Carlsbad conveniently enough) that had 3 or 4 sets available that were signed but not numbered. Why there were so many around that were un-numbered is anyones guess but they are legit.

well, from what I can see the signed versions have a whited out area where the autograph is...so one would assume they were ment to be signed...

backdoor is likely where they came from, and/or sent out as replacements for redemption...although how someone would end up with an entire set of replacements seems like a big strech to me...
