I got out of collecting many years ago (around 2003ish) and being dumb, sold off all my stuff, rather than just stash it away for the inevitable return. One of the cards I had missed the most was a Mike Modano 2000-01 BAP Ultimate Journey Emblem. After watching and waiting for over five years to find one, I was randomly going through GabbyGuy's photobucket and saw he had one in his collection and immediately contacting him about possibly acquiring it. He wasn't too interested in selling and I was a little dejected, but I went about acquiring some Gaborik stuff to try and offer a trade.
After buying (and overpaying, otherwise Curt would have no doubt just bought them himself) two Gaborik game used letterman, I asked if he'd be interested in trading. Once again I was rebuffed.
I then had really no use for the Letters, as if I can't have the whole name, they just drive me crazy. So, rather than selling them and have Curt win them and go through that whole thing, I just decided to surprise him and sent them to him for free.
Either he was so happy with the generosity, a little guilty about how much money I gave him for the Gaborik Premier Shield :laugh:, or a little of both, this showed up in my mail box a few days later:
