R.I.P. Dan Snyder. 6 years ago tomorrow, Atlanta Thrashers player, Dan Snyder died five days after being in a car crash in teammate Dany Heatley's car. Although not the greatest hockey player, he showed the most determination of any hockey player I've ever seen. His hard worked paid off and he won a permanent roster spot in Atlanta in 2003, however he never played a game that season. he is truly missed.

My mum went to the Dan Snyder night a few days after he died at the home opener against the Blue Jackets. She brought me back the program from that night that had him on it. It is, and will probably always be one of my favourite pieces in my collection. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Man, 6 years? It really doesnt even seem that long ago.

On a similarly sentimental note, did anyone else see the entire Angels team out at Nick Adenharts "memorial wall" after they clinched? And then dousing his jersey in champagne in the locker room during the celebration. One of the most moving, and simply amazing, tributes I have seen.

I know they miss Dan in Owen Sound where he always showed heart playing his OHL days... and in his hometown too. Always good to remember the good people who passed on.

And the Angels are the team of destiny this year - they beat the BoSox and they'll have the momentum to win it all.

I heard some pretty cool stories about him several years ago. I played in a national baseball tournament and met quite a few people from Elmira, his hometown. He may not have been the greatest NHL player to ever play, but the respect these people had for him, and the stories they shared were impressive. One young guy I met was the brother of Dan Snyder's girlfriend. Elmira is a small town and I hope his legacy is living on!
