His career (and wallet) took a hit for sure, but marginally less than the hit it would have taken had he held out into the off-season.

Either someone finally got to him and woke him up . letting him know you need to make nice or Tampa can really screw you for the next 7 years. You want out then play and learn until they can move you .

I have a feeling he will light it up in the AHL and TB will get a few injuries, recall him and he's going to have a great playoff as TB wins the cup. (Hey, it could happen).

Talk is if he does play well in the AHL he could get back to Tampa . But that would mean he'd need to score goals and play a strong 2 way game .

I have a feeling the real reason Drouin sat out was he was still injured . But he wanted out of Tampa he tried to play the i don't want to get injured card. If you go back to when he started in the AhL he looked ok after the 1st two games then looked so so . Now he's healthy and looking good again.
