Flames fire coach Bill Peters

I do recall I read a news report earlier this week that said either he or someone else on the team did complain to management at the time...or something to that regard, and a voice was made. He was immediately demoted to the ECHL thanks to Peters, where in turn this players career was essentially done.

This is called karma, even if it is 10 years karma!
I have no sympathy for this coach whatsoever.

In case people forget, Aliu had a reputation as being a trouble maker. Do you know how he got that? He refused to be bullied and shamed in a hazing ritual in junior hockey that took place at the back of the team bus that the coaching staff basically turned a blind eye to. In fact, Steve Downie who went on to become a Canada darling for his tough play for Team Canada and was given every break possible by the Philadelphia Flyers, cross checked Aliu in the face during practice in what was considered retribution for not participating in the hazing.

So you’ve got a kid who is trying to fulfill his dream as an immigrant to Canada, already blackballed as a trouble maker. He has stated in the past that he was going to try and prove his detractors wrong through his play on the ice. So perhaps his motivation to suck this up was to try and keep in a position to succeed?

I will never question a victims motives for how they live with their trauma - I’ll instead try and support them in their process.

Thank god that’s over. Now the talk around town can go back to the Flames crappy record and what kind of trade return they can get for Johnny HappyHour. Hahaha

I'll toss this thought in:

Regardless of what title or position you hold within a company, CEO to janitor, if you are a part of an organization and wearing their logo, you are now the spokesperson and face of that entity.

So speak and act accordingly as it reflects on everyone else, and, in turn, will find you the door if you speak/act like Peters.
