Last 10: Columbus 2-7-1; Los Angeles 6-1-3

Season series: This is the second of four meetings between the Western Conference teams this season. The Kings beat the Blue Jackets, 2-1, with a pair of third-period goals in Columbus on Dec. 15.

Big Story: While the Blue Jackets remain in a state of disarray, the Kings have straightened themselves out under new coach Darryl Sutter. They are 5-0-3 since Sutter made his debut on Dec. 22. In the same span of time, the Blue Jackets are 1-4-1.

Who's Hot: Quick has started eight of the last nine games and is 6-0-2 with 10 goals allowed. He made 22 saves in a 1-0 win over Phoenix on Thursday for his League-best sixth shutout of the season. Quick had only six shutouts last season.

Injury Report: The Blue Jackets will be without Letestu (hand), James Wisniewski (ankle), and Kristian Huselius (lower body), who on Friday was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 6. … The Kings are playing without Simon Gagne (upper body, possible concussion). Defenseman Slava Voynov (upper body) practiced Friday after missing the previous two games.

Stat Pack: The Kings' penalty-kill is perfect on its last 28 chances. In fact, they haven't allowed a power-play goal since Sutter took over (22-for-22). The Blue Jackets did not have a power play in their 2-1 loss to San Jose on Thursday.

Go :kings: I even remembered to pvr the game this time hahaha

With two periods in the books,

1 - 0 for the :jackets: on Clitsome (4) :goal: of the season

and this one is a final, 1 - 0 :jackets:

Los Angeles out shoot Columbus, 31 - 18, Curtis Sanford stood on his head!

this kings team is frickin pitiful. they just cant score for **** and im beyond tired of it. the blue jackets had NO business winning this game and yet another 2 points thrown away by the kings. 0 for 8 on the power play? good job

1-0 jackets win

Sanford's been unreal for Columbis this season. He went on a slump but was probably getting tired. In his last game, he made 37 saves on 39 shots in a losing effort against the Sharks.

kings are garbage. Can't score goal even though they get 8 PP. One of the PP was 4 minutes and 1: 30 of it was 5 on 3. Deno needs to get on the phone at start moving players.

totally embarrassing - not sure there is much else anyone can do for this team. hopefully the Kings fire the power play coach, dump a few expiring contracts, do some soul searching and sign a scorer in the off season. you just can't get shut out at home by the backup goalie of the worst team in the league and be any sort of playoff threat. probably the best thing for this team is to miss the playoffs.
