GDT: Oilers @ Kings - Nov 3

Game has just started and I see no thread was made for tonight's game...so ditto!

I'm not doing the usual pre-game story, as the game is just underway.
In brief...the Oilers are scary good right now and the Kings are doing OK I guess

I predict the Kings booing Smytty, and I say go ahead, as it will probably only make him play better. Once an Oiler...always an Oiler for # 94
And I almost forgot, Tuebert is playing tonight as a 3rd pairing D-man. Makes me wonder if this was done on purpose for kicks, or if it was a team decision. hmmm

Kings fan can boo Smyth all they want. Apparently Smyth said something along the lines that he was happy to be in a city that actually knows something about Hockey. I can't disagree. Obviously I want the Kings to win but I hope it goes to OT or a shootout so the Oilers can get a point

I know what you mean about Smytty's comment.
I was in LA last spring just after the Kings were eliminated. I was briefly chatting with the valet at my hotel and asked if he was a Kings fan. His reply was...who are the Kings? I just shook my head and walked away.

At the end of last season, I thought I had totally had written off Tom Gilbert for his crappy play. Boy has he been a surprise this season, as every game he seems to contribute.
And Smid too....he is currently the king of the NHL in blocked shots.

Brutal. I am now a Terry Murray hater. Shutout in back to back home games is unacceptable.

IMO, the players disinterest in the game is sending a message to the coach.

Oilers win 3-0 and Khabby earns his 2nd shoutout of the season!

With each game I am slowly starting to warm up to our #1 goalie we selected 2 seasons ago....another solid effort.

But I have to give props again to Potter, how has this kid been a nobody the past few seasons and is now a top points leader for defensemen. He made some really smart plays tonight, and I am not taking his goal into consideration.
