Capitals - Lightning Preview and is available for view here: CSN-DC (HD), SUN (HD) with a puck drop of 7:30pm EDT.

The Capitals (44-22-6) need to continue to win if they want to pass Boston and New Jersey for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and three remaining games on the schedule with Tampa Bay (23-32-15) could help.

Washington has outscored the Lightning 16-7 in three victories this season, including 5-1 at the St. Pete Times Forum on Feb. 14. Tampa Bay last beat its Southeast Division rival Nov. 16, 2007, dropping eight straight since and allowing four or more goals in each of the last five.

Theodore has not faced the Lightning since joining the Capitals. He made 32 saves for Colorado in a 3-0 win in his last visit to Tampa on Jan. 15, 2008.

In the midst of a five-game trip, the Capitals have won six of their last seven on the road, while Tampa Bay has lost four straight (0-2-2) and seven of eight (1-4-3) at home.

"Toronto outplayed us the last half of the game," coach Rick Tocchet told the Lightning's official Web site. "They deserved to win, bottom line. It shows how far our team still needs to go."

Karri Ramo, who took the loss, has played the bulk of the minutes in net lately as Tampa Bay searches for a solution with starter Mike Smith still sidelined following a concussion.

Ramo has a 3.65 goals-against average in 17 appearances, while the Lightning's 3.17 GAA ranks 28th in the league.

GO!

Pothier is in for Erskine, Quintin Laing was recalled to fill in for Boyd Gordon who is banged up, and Simeon Varlamov will probably get the start in net.

Ovy needs to pot one tonight. Tampa's missing several key d-men, and we've notched 16 goals in 3 games against them this year. Should be an entertaining match.

Why in the world does this team continue to dress Jeff Schultz.

He must have steamy pictures of George McPhee or something.. its absolutely RIDICULOUS!

I can't believe he just did that after the goal, so disgraceful they didn't even want to show the replay. He belongs in a different sport.

That goes down as one of the most embarrassing moments in hockey! Not even his teammates wanted any part of it.

Best I can describe it...

After scoring the goal, Ovechkin skates behind the Lightning net. He drops his stick on the ice to the side of the net... squats over it and puts his hands toward the stick, palms down... then lifts back up as if "the stick is too hot to touch" and repeats the process about 5 or 6 times.

What he did belongs in Football! I can't describe it, just a stupid move. Laid his stick on the ice, kinda bowing down to his stick calling his teammates over, who wanted no part of it.

Just wait to see it.

hmmmm.....not a fan of the move...Definitely a little over the top....But I wouldn't crucify the guy for it....If he was on my team I'd think it was the coolest thing that ever happened

I'll hold off judgement until I see it. I'm all for being excited when you score, as long as it's not premeditated.

If he says "Don Cherry, where are you?" after the game, I'll forgive him for that one in a second, lol. (See: 'Ovechkin hole in one' video on youtube for how I want him to say it).
