It's just that I haven't seen a Zherdev Premier patch at all from the Jackets Regular jersey, but I am not sure.. This patch seems to be from the "BUG" face..

I see where your coming from, I just don't know, If he were to fake a patch why not make it a "nicer" peice, but then again he could've made it a less nice patch so people would think its legit... your best bet would probably be to contact UD like what you did with the bergerons...
 
Just the look of the patch looks fishy! I have yet to see a patch of Zherdev that has the Bug in it! It would be a sweet one to have should it be legit!

I'm looking at the back of both my Zherdevs. It doesn't say Youngstars. It said "jersey worn in an official NHL game."

Zherdev was a late addition to the Columbus team after his struggles with the russian team.

By the way according to Upper Deck website Zherdev's jersey is the only one that was worn in an official NHL game, all other jerseys are from photo shoots.

I would say fake, although that is just a guess. I have no clue, but here's my reasonings:

I dont' have the budget to go after these cards so I haven't been watching them like a hawk, but I've seen quite a few. But I don't recall ever seeing that shade of baby-blue on a Zherdev Premier Patch. And on the bug, there is a lot of that blue, which makes me think that the specific colour would appear elsewhere. Heck, I could be totally off and someone here might post a Zherdev with that blue. EDIT: Just saw Vik's post above, same idea.

Also, I know the scan is only 2 dimensional, but the patch doesn't seem to be very "patch-like". On many scans, you can actually see the patch rising up and down. Depends on the scanner. But it seems he does have a good scanner! Just look at how clearly the rest of the card came out in the scan, and then the patch looks flat. Just my two cents.


And yes, I spell colour with a "U" :D
