Just how bad is the mail right now?

I had a WOW with the postal service today.

Saturday afternoon early I sold a card to a buyer in Rancho Mirage Calif. The postman had not run yet so I got the card all wrapped up & in the mailbox for pickup. When I checked tracking this afternoon the card showed delivered. This was from just east of Nashville Tennessee to California in less than 48 hours including Sunday.

That card must of hit every stop at just the right time.

Sometimes it just works out perfect. Mailman picks it up, drops it of at the DC where the truck is conveniently waiting and hops on the plane and is in CA within a few hours. Gets sorted and delivered next day.

I've had several packages arrived across the country within 48hrs... usually from major city to major city though since there's more planes/trucks servicing the big hubs

Purchased an item on ebay on March 11 and was supposed to be delivered by March 24 per ebay's deliver latest estimate.

I don't really know what to think of the eBay delivery date estimate haha. Sometimes it's way off. Either it gets to me before the estimated time or it's followed through with it or a day or two late.

There are few things I hate as much as those space magic "estimated delivery" dates that eBay conjures out of a wizard's hat.

The constant headache of de-escalating low feedback buyers who think that a non-tracked package sent via regular mail should arrive from Canada to Texas in 6 days as the "eBay estimate says" is just too much sometimes.

I deal with a guy in Slovenia. I’d sent him a package in late November, and another by registered mail in mid February.

Both arrived TODAY.

Speechless.

Anyone notice bigger than normal delays with mail from
Alberta? Specifically from Alberta to BC?

I've noticed this and I'm in the US. Items shipped to me from BC, Quebec, and Ontario get here in like 1 week. If its sent from AB it can take 2+ weeks. On the tracking it always sits in AB for so long and then slowly makes it way to Vancouver--> San Francisco--> then eventually to Illinois. Definitely takes the long way.
