I was shocked to find that this auction is at the value it's at currently.

Connor McDavid - Future Watch Auto
PSA 10
As of Feb 4th in the morning, this card is currently at a bid of $17,100 cdn (approx. $13,400 US) and 7 days left on bidding.

First of all...that is awesome for the seller and the value of this card in the hobby.
I have seen my fair share of the 999 copies of this card and they were not perfect and could not fit correctly in a one touch.
So a PSA 10 makes me wonder just how pristine the card really is and what it actually would grade as with BGS. There is no real answer to that, other than Beckett would grade this card more stringently.

First question - what do you all believe this auction will end up selling for?
Second question - what do you think a BGS 9 and 9.5 would now sell for on the market, based on the current and eventual ending bid of this card.

Insane......I have no other words....is there an influx of new collectors migrating over from the other big 3 due to the nhl being untapped to date? This seems like it’s gotten insane in the past 6 months.

The sports card market took a bit of time to warm to hockey. Take a look at the prices on Mcdavids foil Young guns. One on ebay now BGS 9.5 (10x2, 9.5 x2) is over 5K with half a day left.

Nothing surprises me anymore in this market. Just enjoy the ride or the view from sidelines, whichever you prefer.

I have had 2 copies of the SPA FW AU McD #/999 and BOTH did not fix in a UltroPro magnetic but OK in a ProMold magnetic along with a few from that year along a few other SPA FW AU (Larkin, ....).
Both McD graded BGS 9.5 and are long gone!
What's happening now with the Lafreniere UD YG NOW, might of applied then.

The demand is real, I have several of these FWA (BGS 9.5s, and PSA 10s) and I'm being harassed on them daily, lol.

I recently sold a FWA BGS 9.5 true gem for a little less than what this PSA 10 is bidding at. Just had an offer of $15k through eBay on the PSA 10 as well.

To answer the OPs 1st question, I'd imagine upwards of $20k CAD.

That is awesome. Now go treat yourself to a new truck...you deserve it.

Thank you for your input.
What would you say would be the correct asking/selling price for a BGS 9 of this card with a 10 auto? I'm guessing $13k is a fair market price now?

not a truck guy, lol!

before the recent spike, I sold one around $4k. I don't think these will scale at the same rate of the Gem Mints, but imagine it's up considerably since then.

Warning signs everywhere for the sports card market, but a lot of people seem to not care as we can see on EBAY and the auction houses. People with money target something, buy everything available at current rates, falsely inflate the prices and spark a feeding frenzy, then dump for big profit and move on to the next thing. See GameStop. The bubble will burst, it always does, enjoy it while you can and get your share of the profits while you can.

I doubt this is a bubble. There had been so much media attention and influencer followings that has driven people in droves, and evidently people with large amounts of cash to burn / invest. I have been a collector for years and will not be selling my cards, many many mcdavids, but will gladly take the appreciation in value!

Wow, insane. Top bids look legit as well I think. Very cool to see McDavid/hockey get some shine in the sun and I hope that these new prices are real and not just a pump and dump. Congrats to the seller and anyone else who's lucky enough to have one of these in their collections!

I have a BGS 9.5 - it's part of the complete set that I built...so it's probably not going anywhere
