Metrodome Roof Collapse Video

Holy cow.

I just watched a "making of" video for dome stadiums, and the guy said 'no dome has ever collapsed' because they are so sturdy. doh?!?!

That mustve been some snow storm up north (south for the GWN'ers).
 
Saw that earlier today, wow! I just showed my students a video last week about making domed stadiums, so I'll be showing this in class tomorrow.
 
I spent 4 hours outside today snow-blowing my driveway/sidewalk and helping at least 3 neighbors with theirs....biggest storm since 1991 here!

Now the COLD!!!

Kids are happy...schools are closed tomorrow. Yea!! :rolleyes:

I was at my sisters in New Hope the night the storm hit and we drove home the next day. But it took us 30 min to drive 10 miles. The drifts were really high. There were full size trucks parked in the middle of 169 north. There was around 14-18 inches at my sisters when we left. It was fun to see all the snow but now maybe the vikings can get a new stadium now:owned:

I can see Ziggy now "we need a new stadium because the dome is not safe"

People would complain because they would be all white :)

BC Place had its' roof tear apart a few years ago too. Thats why they chose to replace it with a 450 + million dollar retractable roof. The sad part is, it can't open or close in the rain. Did the designers not realize they where doing this in Vancouver?
