How did we get this far into the discussion without anybody mentioning Denis Potvin on the Sportsnet Senators broadcasts? Just atrocious commentary.

i remember he was bad doing Florida games as well.

The absolute KING of the HOMER!

Many have tried but no one can take their Homer Game to Redmond's level. It is so bad, I once thought of turning over to a leaf's game....

Washington Capitals Craig Laughlin..his tone of voice--the sqekiness and "love"for the Caps. Though sometimes I wonder if he talks more about himself than the Caps..

John Garrett that does the Canucks colour for Sportsnet can be bad at times.

I still remember watching a Canucks game against I think it was the Oilers on CBC one Saturday night and wondering why the hell the announcers were babbling on and on about the Leafs, with no tie in to the Canucks - Oilers game at all. Wish I could remember who it was, they were bad for homerism.

Bottom line - a team's announcers are PAID by the team to broadcast the game for that particular team - so if they're paid employees of the team... it shouldn't be hard to connect the dots.

So if there seems to be homerism - there likely is, since the team usually pay THEIR announcers.

On that note, this is being closed down - pretty much a non sequitur to start with
