My Jhonas Enroth PC

I have to admire your dedication to this collection.
Most collectors just give up after there player is finished with the NHL, or the card companies stop producing chase cards.
Very cool that you keep finding new stuff to share frequently with us.

Thanks, Scott! I appreciate your comment and your kind words.

Yes, it's true that most collectors do stop chasing their PC players once their time in the NHL is over and all of the limelight is finished. I get why most stop, but I want to keep going as long as I can. Similar to when a player gets traded, I never understood why people suddenly sell off all of they had of x player, when all that will be changing about the player is just the uniform they wear. For my Enroth collection, I was a big fan of his when he broke into the NHL and still am today. Even today I still occassionally stream KHL games to watch Enroth play when I have the time. I just really like his approach to the game of hockey and really admire his technical abilities (I'm a goalie as well, so I notice stuff about his game that I like) and that will never change.

It's been a blast picking up all of these KHL cards - I'm lucky that SeReal (the main KHL card manufacterer) puts out great products every season. When I flip to the KHL portion of my collection when I'm viewing it or sharing it with others, it's a nice breath of fresh air for sure. It brings another level to my collection that I'm glad to be able to add to.

I also really like sharing my pickups with all of you guys as well. A collector many years ago did so with his player collection and the idea to show off your collection chronologically, card-by-card, inspired me to do the same.

A White Whale has been found. I repeat, a White Whale has been found.

I even wrote a little blog post about this addition on my site:

This is what it's all about sometimes. Man, I'm stoked! :D

I know it doesn't replace the 1/1, but that's a pretty nice consolation prize indeed given that you know of a few other copies locked in PCs so for all intents and purposes this may as well be a 1/1 too

That is one amazing find! Congrats. Loved the 10 anniversary release of BTP so I know how hard those are to find.

First off.. Huge congrats on the Beckett article!! I love how your always finding mainstream cards along with obscure odd cards to keep the collection going!! That’s awesome that you can stream games of Enroth, I know the 2 DVDS of Schultz I have, get a lot of play time!! Lol!

So amazing. Congratulations!!!

Couldn't have said myself. Thanks man! I appreciate it!

Wow!
That Dual Autograph is amazing!
Really beautiful card.
Congratulations

It is, isn't it? ITG had some great designs. I always love picking up an older ITG card from years back. Super limited, too!

Joe, that's very true! And the timing of all this was really interesting as well. Lose out on a 1/1? Don't worry, you're going to stumble upon a card you thought you'd never grab. This hobby has some super weird timing, man.

You're telling me. I've always loved Between The Pipes as well, so everytime I get to add a BTP card to my Enroth collection, it feels that much nicer.

Thanks man! I appreciate all your kind words as always.

I've been super lucky to have the oppourtunity to still pickup mainsteam cards after all these years. For a kind of player like Enroth is (NHL Backup, then went to Europe), especially the way the hobby is now, he shouldn't have had that many cards of him made. Since a few card companies have made Enroth cards over his career, I'm lucky that I've been able to surpass 400 unique Enroth cards in my collection. 477 total if you count all the duplicate stuff, etc. If Enroth started his career now, there's no way I'd hit numbers like those. It's a larger collection than I thought I'd have when I started collecting Enroth way back in 2010.

I think I've rambled on enough, haha. Here's another update for you all.

Added this cool 2009-10 SPGU Rookies Gold 1/50 Jersey Numbered card! Huge thanks to Tim (TurcoCollector3) for reaching out to me and helping me make a deal with the collector who owned this card. We were able to strike a deal for this card very easily. Thanks again, Tim!

Some nice new pick ups as of late!
lovin that BTP Dual Auto :)

Thank you! I love the BTP Dual Auto as well.

awesome dual auto.

Thanks! It was a big card to cross off the list for sure. Happy to finally have a copy in my collection.

Now for the first update of 2020...

Today I added this beautiful One Of A Kind 1/1 card from President's Choice Trading Cards! I was kind to myself this year and bought myself a late Christmas present during the recent sale. So glad I finally have this card in my collection!

I just love the colour scheme on this card to go with the LA Kings throwback unifirms depicted in the photo. The memorabilia swatch is from a CCM Premier glove Enroth wore during the 2015-2016 season with the Kings.

I even found a photo-matched picture of Enroth wearing the glove. You can even see the yellow/purple CCM logo on the backhand of the glove from where this exact swatch was taken from. Wonderful!

I hope you all enoy this update as much as I did!

So awesome! Great card and cool to find a photo of it in action!

Thanks man! The photo is a nice touch as well. Always cool when you can photo-match a card!

Nice way to treat yourself, Aaron. How long was that one taunting you from the website? :)

Joe

Thanks! Sometimes the gifts we treat ourselves with are the best kind of gifts. :)

And yeah, haha, that card has been taunting me on their website for sometime now. Glad I finally pulled the trigger!
