Ok, Ill get right to the mail... first the warm ups

I picked up a box of 97/98 pinnacle mint at walmart, didnt do too badly considering the enormous $10 set back ;)

A Joe Sakic Mint Gold Team and a Brett Hull Mint Silver Team... could have been a lot worse!

Now Im on to a bit of off topic mail... I do a bit of old football here and there, and I picked up a great deal on a few singles from one of the best looking sets IMO ever created!

Finally I got a UD redemption that I never thought would arrive, its the only thing in this mail day that is FT.

The last of the warm ups before we head in to the big shooters... I picked up a couple of 90's wings inserts that I like, and I couldnt pass for the price.

All three are from sets I am slowly working on, so if you happen to have any... let me know!

Now the reason for my shout out... Weasel King (Joe), is a top class guy who is simply one of the finest board members here. Out of nothing but kindness he sent me a pivotal piece of my 05/06 UD Ice Rainbow set, and all he asked in return was for my address to ship it! I cant say thank you enough, board members like you shine a light on our hobby that not even the greediest and most selfish of the hobby can tarnish. Here is the scan along with the Vokoun that i picked up from Bigcheez99

Now were moving on to the main event. This is my 22nd Brendan Shanahan autograph Im adding to my collection, and one of the hardest to find, so Im glad to knock it out, and again at a price I was quite satisfied with

One of the few 90's cards to actually maintain its value over the past 10 years, and by far one of the most eye appealing, and the reason for todays mail title....

Thats right, a 97/98 Donruss Preferred Precious Metals PLATINUM Steve Yzerman!!!!!

That one is definately a permanent fixture in my PC, hope you all enjoyed the mail... and as always, comments are very much appreciated :D

Dang, those Precious metals are very tough! I've seen many of them get double book! Congrats, awesome piece. They really are sharp looking like you said.

They might be the sharpest looking cards from the 90's period, and considering what they sold for some time ago... Im quite thrilled with what I paid for my copy.

James, that Steve Young card is a beauty and the Shanny Ult auto is a gem too. :)

But man, I LOVE that Yzie, what a card, those things are still worth their weight in gol.....er....platinum!;)

No doubt they are a sight to behold! :) Now that the crazy spender with unlimited funds isnt buying any more, might just have to add that to my 97/98 preferred master set plans :D

Sweet pickup on the Yzerman precious metals cards, toughies to find for sure. I love the look of the Select Certified Cornerstones, one of my favorite insert cards from days gone by.
