Need some help here with ebay issue...

I recently sold a 05-06 Denis Savard game jersey thats a short print. It sold for just under $40. The buyer at the time had like a 94.7% rating and that worried me right off the start. So he waits 5 or 6 days to finally pay me through paypal. A week later i get a message from him saying the card has a crease, and he wants a full refund. Than has the nerve to tell me i didn't list the crease in the description. Obviously I wouldn't sell it if it had a crease, since I have 100% feedback over 7 or 8 years. Also his feedback is 100% now which i dont quite understand.

So i'm stumped on what to do... am i getting scammed here? Or should I eat my first negative feedback since it really won't dent my rating?

Edit: It was also shipped in a soft sleeve, top loader, team bag, and bubble mailer.

His feedback score is based on the last 12 months, if he got a bunch of negatives a while back that just recently passed the 12 month mark he still has them on his record but it doesn't effect his feedback score. If he leaves you a negative it may bring your score down a tad, but this time next year you could be back to 100% if you don't have any other issues in the meantime.

And like quincy said, put him on the spot by asking for a scan.

Explain to him that that isn't how things work. You don't get a refund if you still have the product in any business, why would an ebay deal be any different. I would empty my paypal right now to make sure he doesn't try to pull a chargeback on you. Even if he does and ebay sides with him, there would be no money to collect on.
 
What's this tool's eBay ID? Folks should get this guy blocked asap.

Did you send it to him via registered and insured mail? Regardless, in this situation, I would bank on PayPal siding with him. It sucks how unprotected the seller is, but that's the way they operate. I've been scammed a few times, and now you can't even leave a negative to warn others.

You may want to fire the first shot and contact PayPal to see if they can do anything (don't open anything, just phone them and see if there is any recourse).
 
If the card is damaged like he said.. then Paypal will require him to go to a local card shop and have them evulate the card.. also since he has said that he received the card he will then have to send it back to you with some sort of tracking... then paypal will grant him his money back..

But you should be saving his comunication so that you can show them that he did receive the card.
 
Just emptied my Paypal. I sent him a message back repeating he needs to send me the card back first. If it gets back bent in half I'm not giving him crap.
