Never Ending Random Card Of The Day Thread

My last ITG Ultimate Vault Ovechkin card...and last Ovechkin card to show...is one of the few ITG Ultimate cards that had more than just Silver and Gold versions. This time they had Silver, Gold and an Onyx (or Black) 1/1 card. I think UM8 and UM9 did this for a few subsets.

Even the base cards had Onyx versions...here is my Gaborik Onyx 1/1 Base from UM8:

To show you what the three versions looked like, I'll show you some. The label inside the card was the key with these "Trophy Winners" cards.

Example: Silver labels were cards #/24 (not my card):

Gold labels were cards #/9 (not my card):

And the Onyx labels were 1/1 cards...and this is my Vault Ovechkin Onyx version:

V-UM9 "Trophy Winners - Calder Trophy 2006" Onyx - Ruby (original card was the Onyx 1/1)

Now that I've shown all of my Ovechkin cards, I haven't decided yet to continue to show off another specific player (Orr, Howe, Gretzky, Brimsek, Worsley)...or just start showing random cards again for this "Random Card of the Day" thread. ???

Anyone want to make a suggestion??? ;):D

Thanks!

I like the idea of focusing on one player and showing the different sets that they appear in.

Just thought I post some pics of a card with a bit of a story. Several years ago, I participated in an online break and was thrilled to hit a Wayne Gretzky auto. Only problem was, the auto was missing.

I tweeted about the misfortune and tagged Upper Deck in my post. They were quick to get in touch with me and opened a case on my behalf and asked me to send the card back to them and they would try to make things right. To my pleasant surprise, I received the autographed card within a few short weeks!

That's a great Upper Deck turnaround you hardly ever see.

Beauty card! (y)
