No Sens anywhere, but that's fine we'll settle for everyone on the team getting the Stanley Cup!

Am I the only one who thinks the Hart is less meaningful than the Lester B. Pearson?

Anywho, I think Staal will pull off the upset too.

Mine too:

CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding rookie): Jordan Staal, Pittsburgh Penguins

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY (outstanding defensive forward): Jay Pandolfo, New Jersey Devils

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY (most valuable player to his team): Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins

JACK ADAMS AWARD (outstanding coach): Lindy Ruff, Buffalo Sabres

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding defenseman): Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit Red Wings

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY (sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct): Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche

LESTER B. PEARSON AWARD (most outstanding player as voted by fellow members of the NHLPA): Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins

VEZINA TROPHY (outstanding goaltender): Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils

CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding rookie):
Evgeni Malkin, Pittsburgh Penguins
Jordan Staal, Pittsburgh Penguins
Paul Stastny, Colorado Avalanche
I'd personally give it to Staal, but when its three forwards nominated, it usually boils down to a scoring race, so Malkin takes this one.

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY (outstanding defensive forward):
Rod Brind'Amour, Carolina Hurricanes
Samuel Pahlsson, Anaheim Ducks
Jay Pandolfo, New Jersey Devils
Gotta give the Ducks some love. Pahlsson has come a long way.

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY (most valuable player to his team):
Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils
Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins
Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks
What else do you want from the kid?

JACK ADAMS AWARD (outstanding coach):
Lindy Ruff, Buffalo Sabres
Michel Therrien, Pittsburgh Penguins
Alain Vigneault, Vancouver Canucks
Made the Pens into a competitive team that other teams had to take seriously at least a year ahead of anyone else's schedule.

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding defenseman):
Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit Red Wings
Scott Niedermayer, Anaheim Ducks
Chris Pronger, Anaheim Ducks
Pronger and Niedermayer will probably split the vote from guys familiar with their play. Have two guys from the same team ever been nominated for the Norris before?

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY (sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct):
Pavel Datsyuk, Detroit Red Wings
Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche
Martin St. Louis, Tampa Bay Lightning
As close to a no-brainer as they come....

LESTER B. PEARSON AWARD (most outstanding player as voted by the NHLPA):
Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins
Vincent Lecavalier, Tampa Bay Lightning
Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks
Yes, he is that good.

VEZINA TROPHY (outstanding goaltender):
Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils
Miikka Kiprusoff, Calgary Flames
Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers
Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks
No offense to Luongo, I just think Marty's better.

With 4 finalists for the Vezina, I expect we are seeing either (a) too many eastern voters placing Lundqvist ahead of one or both of Luongo and Kiprusoff, but behind Marty; or (b) an eastern split of the vote bewteen Lundqvist and Marty, opening the door for Luongo to win.

I expect that it is (a), which is unfortunate because both Luongo and Kiprusoff had better years than Lundqvist. It wouldn't be the first time the majority of eastern voters refused to look beyond the end of their....noses....and won't be the last.

Since it's the top three vote getters that are named as finalists, doesn't four 'nominees' for Vezina just mean two guys tied for third? Likely Kipper and Lundqvist.

Personally, I hate the way the NHL announces the finalists - the voting is already done - just tell us who won already. No one actually watches the award show. 99% of us just watch the highlights.

If I had a vote:

CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding rookie): Paul Stastny

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY (outstanding defensive forward): Jay Pandolfo

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY (most valuable player to his team): Martin Brodeur

JACK ADAMS AWARD (outstanding coach): Lindy Ruff

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding defenseman): Nicklas Lidstrom

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY (sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct): Joe Sakic

LESTER B. PEARSON AWARD (most outstanding player as voted by fellow Vincent Lecavalier

VEZINA TROPHY (outstanding goaltender): Martin Brodeur

My picks:

CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding rookie):Paul Stastny, Colorado Avalanche.
Didn't come in with near the hype of the other two, and actually broke a record that meant something. The other two will split the votes since they come from the same team

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY (outstanding defensive forward): Samuel Pahlsson, Anaheim Ducks
This is between Pandalfo and Pahlsson. Since NJ will always be considered a defensive team, the award goes to the guy on the more offensive minded squad

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY (most valuable player to his team): Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins
Arguments can be made for the other two, but this will go to Sidney because he's a forward, and because the NHL want's him to win it.

JACK ADAMS AWARD (outstanding coach): Alain Vigneault, Vancouver Canucks.
Nobody did more with less

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding defenseman): Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit Red Wings
Injuries and the fact Pronger and Neidermayer played on the same team will cancel each other out

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY (sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct): Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche
Trish is right. This one is a no-brainer

LESTER B. PEARSON AWARD (most outstanding player as voted by fellow members of the NHLPA): Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks.
Could easily go either way. Sid's gonna end up with plenty of these in his trophy case. The fact that Luongo exceeded most peoples expectations gives him the nod here, IMHO

VEZINA TROPHY (outstanding goaltender): Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils
It begins and ends with Marty. Record for wins in a season. Top 3 in every statistical category, including 1st in Wins, SO, Games Played, Time On Ice, Saves. Luongo may have impressed by virtue of his circumstances, but it goes to Marty. Kipper and Lundqvist should consider themselves lucky if they get any votes between the two of them, since neither of them should be on the list. I would have put Giguere and Backstrom ahead of those two.
