On the other hand - very happy with the signings of Drew Miller and Patrick Eaves for 650K & 750K. There are a coupe of very solid 4th liners that are both excellent PK guys.

These are the type of players at contracts that allow you to do other things.

Ever player the leafs sign or trade for are said to be garbage...amazing.

I actually like several of the moves the Leafs have made the last few years. I like
Phaneuf
Kessel
Kadri
Armstrong
Versteeg

I know it's sometimes tough to also fill a defensive roster spot on a budget which is probably why they signed Lebda. Though I will say I have hated Lebda and thought he was awful the last 4 years so it's not like all of a sudden I think he stinks. I always have.

He (Lebda) supposedly has these great wheels and is a fast skater but it takes the guy half the ice to get going so what good is it. He's constantly out of position and pinches in at the worst times while leaving whoever he is partner with out to dry. He's been my whipping boy for years since Dandenault left and I am more than happy he's gone!

With Schenn, Phaneuf, Beauchemin, Komisarek and Gunnarsson he is likely in the top 4 regardless.

Interesting to hear how he plays. Its good to be fast but as a D you need to have a fast first couple strides. Hopefully he can be better then he was in Detroit. Lets hope some of the wings winning ways and attitude rubbed off on him

I think that's one attribute that is good. He is a good guy and I have met him a few times and he was always very gracious like most hockey players.
It did seem as if when there was any pressure on the Wings he always seemed to be out there. Wings were forced to stick him with Lidstrom several times as that was the only way he could stay out of trouble.
There's always that one player on the team you root for that gets under your skin and he is mine. He's at his best when you don't notice him and it has happened before the year they won the cup.

Canucks sign Tyler Weiman...looks like Lumpygumby's one of us now

On a side note...I heard a groan in the North Burnaby/Vancouver region from poor Kev Mitchell who is stuck to chase another 4600 rookie cards of an 07-08 rookie.

NEVER

I never :| as hard as I did when I heard that news. I'll still be collecting him, even though it's unlikely he'll have many more cards.

Here's to Schneider being traded and Weiman seeing NHL success with Vancouver.

FLYERS AND CARCILLO AGREE TO ONE-YEAR DEAL

Flyers Sign Carcillo to One-Year Contract
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed 6'0", 205-pound left wing Dan Carcillo to a one-year contract, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.

"We are happy to have Dan under contract for the 2010-11 season," said Holmgren.

Carcillo, 25, recorded 22 points (12G,10A) and 207 penalty minutes in 76 regular season games with the Flyers this past season. He led the team in hits (194) and his 207 penalty minutes also led the Flyers and ranked fourth in the NHL. He also became the first player, alongside Boston Bruins’ forward Shawn Thornton, to be assessed a fighting major in the NHL’s Winter Classic, on Jan. 1, 2010.
