exciting and fun game to watch.. thats all that really matters right?

I don't get whats with all the critics in this thread... do you guys think you know everything? Lets draw the line between opinions and criticism... enjoy the game... and let the teams do the talking =)

This has to be another sarcastic post. 5 PP for the Wings and 3 for the Pens, the 2 Gill calls were a joke and the Malkin one at the end of the game had me in a real good mood I tell ya.

I disagree, I liked the first two much more ;) Let's hope the refs get back to calling things equally next game... Therrian must be laughing his a$$ off right now playing he refs the way he did!

You cant be serious. They made cheaper calls all series long against the Flyers, and your crying about that? thats as funny as Cindy crying about diving. Of all people hes gonna cry about diving? hes a joke.

You know that both coaches held meetings with the NHL officials prior to game 3 right, and both voiced their displeasure. I'll give Holmstrom credit, at least he drew a couple penalties, but it amazes me for how big he is and how strong he is on his skates, and how impossible he is to move in front of the net, how easily he flops when someone breaths on him. Not all the time, oh no, when he is screening the goalie and waiting for a shot to deflect, you can't move him. You can hack, cross check, do whatever and the guy will not budge. Yet, the minute he sees the puck heading the other way and someone barely gives him a love tap, WHAM down he goes face first and immediately looks at the ref to see if he drew a penalty. I love the guys game and heart, he is a battler, but he is also one of the biggest floppers out there. He is the best at what he does no doubt, but he also loses a lot of respect in my book for the way he flops like that.

Now why would the Gill calls be a joke?? Didn't know crosschecking was legalized for the finals?? How about the non-call on Gill when he tripped Homer into the net? The calls throughout the game were fine. Should I set here and start naming calls the Wings didn't get?? How about the high stick to Lidstrom??
Look people each team is gonna get caught doing something and each team is gonna get away with stuff so you just have to take each one in stride and TRY to enjoy the game anyway!
I know some Pen's fans are mad about the Malkin call but the fact is he put his stick on Kronwall and it would have created an offensive chance for the Pen's and they have been calling that all year so please give it a rest!!!
Getting back to the game I thought it was pretty good and the next one should be even better. Hopefully the Wings can come out on top!! :)

The Wings were playing more disorganized. They were giving more time and space to the Pens. The Wings D need to playing better and tighter.

The Pens capitalized on the poorer play of the Wings D. It may be the horrible ice in Pit that they are not used to. Passes were being missed.

I still predict the Wings would give up one in PIT so they can win Game 4 and then take the Cup clinching win in DET, at home in front of the home crowd.

It's a JOKE because it's a play that happens ALL YEAR LONG every game every minute, the defensmen trying to clear the net, nothing new to hockey. It's a Penelty that is called, I don't know maybe once in every 20 NHL games....Not 2 in 20 minutes and against the same D-man on the same flopper...gimme a break, Homer would make a great back up for Hasek flopping around like that.

It's hard to argue back and forth and pointless, Wings fans and Pens fans watch the games with different perspectives. I don't really care how they win as long as they do....

The :wings:are going down like Flopstrom ;)

Everyone should read this post. Great job.

Your still on Crosby diving and crying?? Are you , ah forget it, not even sure why I would respond to your post....Yes your right Crosby's a Joke

Maybe the Penguins only get called once every 20 games for it but the rest of the NHL it's a regular call. You crosscheck you go to the box! Pretty simple really.
No mention of the non-call on Gill either. Did you forget about that one or do you only remember the one's you don't like??
As far as the Wings going down, when the dust clears the best team will win so don't put your team on too high a perch because it'll be that much farther it makes the fall!! :D

ok, enough of all the crying, please.

how about some info. is Homer injured? I heard he did not
return to the game.

He was hurt on the Gill trip. Latest update said they would see if he could practice on Friday. He was limping after the game according to Ansar Khan (one of the Wings beat writers)

Seriously, this alleged Crosby whining is getting a little out of hand.

He doesn't whine. He does embellish, like many others in the NHL - but isn't an outright diver. He'll even admit to embellishing - it's a strategy, and a good one if you can draw a penalty.

He does take punches, he will fight back. He is feisty. I'm glad he's on our team :)

This one looks all over,

Pens needed to score on that 5 on 3 and they crapped the bed,

Where the hell was Roberts?

Why wasn't a line of Roberts-Crosby-Talbot put together.

Therrien is getting destroyed by mike babcock, it's not even funny how badly he's being out coached.

In games 1 and 2, I didn't agree with saying it, but, now...man, he looks in waaaaay over his head.

Ive considered buying tickets for game five but it seems that it could be a waste of money. The refs are practically gift wrapping every game for the Pens. They're getting dominated five on five and out coached.

Now everyone in Pens nation is accusing the Red Wings of playing "Pre-lockout" hockey. Crysby's dreamz of a Dynasty are crushed:(

And literally, I have never seen a 23 man roster with weaker legs then the Pens. Everytime theres incidental contact or even pressure from a defender they fall. If Hudler, Datsyuk and Zetterberg can stay on their skates, Malkin, Malone and Crosby sure can.

Are you for real?

They're gift wrapping games for the pens? yeah, I'm sure that's why the pens are DOWN 1-3 in the series.

Bang on Phil. I can't believe how at HOME Therrien isn't concerned with line matchups. Why he wouldn't at least try matchups on home ice is baffling to me. Has the Crosby line played better at home? A shift here and a shift there sure, but Zetterberg and Co. are doing a great job to, at the very least, neutralize their effectiveness over the course of the game. On the road you can be forgiven for that kind of thing because you don't have last change. Therrien's refusal to try and get better line matchups is a major reason the Pens are down 3-1.

Then again he's been too busy whining about interference calls to think about much else. And hey, it worked Mikey, you got a 5 on 3 for a minute and a half last night. Too bad your boys couldn't hit the broadside of a barn when they actually did decide to shoot.

I can't imagine how frustrated Pittsburgh fans are watching this.
