I am so ticked, there was a Gaborik online that i had wanted for a long time, got the seller to sell the card to me, he took my paypal, done deal. Well, the day after he emails me, I got an offer for $100 for the card, i have to take it, sorry, i'll refund your money. Ah, i'm so ticked and it was probably a Gaborik collector on the boards here. It was the Gaborik BAP Franchise. AHHH!!!!

I should state that this was an offline deal as he had no bids with 1 day left but I just wanted to get the card out asap.

I made an offer, he made one back, i said ok. He said he'd end it when he got payment, I paid him right away, he ended. Next day he says he got offered more by someone else and said he had to take it, refunded my money and gave me $6 for my troubles. He said and i quote "I have been offered $100 by someone who has paid over the odds to complete a set.I'm extremely sorry but cannot afford to turn such an offer down.I will refund your monies plus some interest.I know you will probably be upset but this is far too much to turn down."

So I don't think i can get him suspended.

Was it the "Franchise Players" jersey? If it was, that's not a surprise. I know a few people are hunting for that card and who were probably thinking they could snipe it last second. Odds are as soon as the auction was pulled, one of them e-mailed the seller right away and offered crazy money for it....it ****s, but dems da breaks I guess....money talks in this business (notice I say business, not hobby...LOL).......

Actually I would like to know the seller, hm I would like to create a account and pay him a little visit...did I just type that out.....yikes---was only thinking it!!!!
This is what really really bothers me about the hobby...it is like a friend saying that want to play cards or whatever but a better offer comes along so they call you up and say they can't make it then you find out they went out and did something different...Maybe it is me but when a deal is struck then both are obligated---this is why I get ticked when I hear and or read things like this...

Hey Guys, I realize what the seller did here is probably not the best thing, but these are the risks you make when dealing "OUTSIDE OF EBAY". Everyone that does it is trying to get the card cheaper than what they think it will sell for and I am sure that a lot of members here have done this. (Any time I had ever done it I had asked the seller to add a BUY IT NOW to it so that it is legal). Well, the same way you are trying to get something for under market value, the seller usually wants fair market value for his cards, or even higher. If he gets an offer higher than what he got offered originally, what do you think is gonna happen??? I think that BOTH the seller and this member who made a deal outside of ebay did something wrong. If he wouldn't have contacted the buyer about an outside deal to begin with, then this wouldn't be happening right now, he just would have got outbid on the auction and everything would be fine... or if he would have asked for a BUY IT NOW option, this wouldn't be happenign right now either...

Like I said, I don't agree with what the seller did, but I also don't agree that Modo9 did the right thing either, they are both wrong and neither one is more wrong than the other...

Thats my 2 cents...

Glad you warned us. I don't think we need any more bad sellers giving the HI crew trouble...we are the Illuminati of the Hobby after all.
