OK, I'm pumped for this NHL 09

just for those of you out there not on the latest gen consoles, EA decided to make a port for PS2 also... same game.. not AS good graphics (but still satisfactory) and no multiplayer.

I just hope they release this for PSP also... something for me to do during lectures :D
 
that's looks freaking awesome....but typical of the new NHL there was no scoring :D

It would be awesome if the HOFmers can be drafted when you start a league by scratch and have a fantasy draft. The rocket being fed by Crosby and Beliveau playing with A.O.. And do they have Habs or is there a full roster of oldtimers?

Alas I only have a Wii and I suspect my PC will be too slow to run NHL09. I guess I'll have to go with NHL2K9. Hopefully someone I know will get it and invite me over to play

I have PS2, and EA 08, no problems, but I only play once a week (right before Hockey Night in Canada to warm up).:D
 
Ot: Nhl 09

Are any of you guys stoked about this game? I can hardly wait. The Be A Pro mode is something I've been hoping for for a very long time and the online with the Guild setup and the 6 on 6 human players should be great.

If anyone wants in a guild or group or what have you, let me know, I will most likely be starting one up or be in one very quickly.
 
To be honest, when I posted the same topic as yours, I posted it in the League discussion. I never even noticed the section it was in and I've been here for over 4 years.
 
The oldtimer roster is only for Montreal, for the clubs 100th anniversary.

I don't really want all the oldtimers added like Gretz and Orr, not if it would affect the Dynasty mode anyway, I like it to be as close to the current season as humanly possible.

Be a Pro is going to be sweet and the online will be insane.

don't get your hopes up, according to our sony rep, ea has no plans of bringing back nhl to the psp in the near future.:( so like many others, i'm stuck playing nhl 07, which does the job in a pinch.
 
What 09 already! Im still playing 2004!

Any one finish this yet? Im have been playing for years and am now in my 6th season

Dynasty mode,top difficulty,20 min periods!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I swear its the only way to play.

And its pre salary cap. Currently paying 129mil a year in wages.
 
I will be buying NHL 09 the instant it hits the stores! :dance: I just hope they make the game harder because it's to easy to score in NHL 08. :beer:
 
It looks different, but yet the same. If you look at the game play videos the goalies saves look the same and their movements dont look as real as the rest of the game does. I hate every year how they say everything always looks so much better and theyve changed so much, but when you play the game there is so few changes, and they dont really affect the game that much. But on the other hand, Ive been waiting a while for them to have the Be a pro mode, after playing superstar mode in madden, I knew it would be sick. In my opinion after seeing the gameplay videos, how I like the game will be decided on how good the Be a Pro mode is. All the other changes (beside defensive skill stick) are very minimal. But lets hope Im wrong and its the best game ever, lol.

I didn't even pick up NHL08 because I played 07 and it's essentially the same game as 06 with new rosters. So I'm done buying EA until I buy a 360 or PS3.

Was NHL08 that much different than NHL07?

I have nothing but 2001 to compare 08 to, so you know I like 08.

For 360, yes it was a fairly different game imo.

For the original xbox, they make the same game as a the previous year with updates, they don't have the time to make a completely new hockey game on both systems and the original xbox is being phased out.

I played the demo a few times today and there are huge changes to this game compared to last years. I'm undecided if the changes are for the better or for the worse I'm gonna need some time with the full version to decide. I like the be a pro mode although it takes a little getting use to with all the quick camera angle changes but other then that I think the concept is awesome and it has the potential to be a lot of fun.
