Hello Hobby Insider:
Yeah, yeah, 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro. I'm that guy. But, I'm also not finding a ton of new cards lately, so I decided to start a new p.c. I get a little impatient waiting.
But, I also need to keep this within reason, modest and affordable and the like. So, I'm going to go after some cards I couldn't collect back in my late teens and early 20's years.
So here we are: My 1990s Inserts (new p.c.).
Let me show off five complete sets I recently purchased from a Facebook collectors group.
#1. 1994-95 Score - 90 Plus Club
The 21 cards in this set were randomly inserted into Score retail jumbo packs at the rate of 1:4. The set features all players who tallied more than 90 points in the previous season. The cards have a full tan border. A simple round set logo is on the lower portion of the card. The player name is in gold foil. The backs are team color coordinated, with a player photo, and short text information. The cards are numbered with an "NP" prefix.
#2. 1994-95 Score - Canadian Team
The 24 cards in this set were randomly inserted into Score Canadian retail and hobby product at the rate of 1:36 packs. The cards feature a holographic player photo front with a background that reads Lillehammer. The set highlights players from the Canadian Olympic team that took him the silver in the 1994 Games. Although included in this set, Brett Lindros actually did not play in Norway due to an injury. The backs have a full colour player portrait over a maple leaf background. The cards are numbered with a CT prefix.
As sold to me, I received two copies of CT15 Harlock and zero copies of CT05 Harlock. My seller is away on business travel but will look into it when he comes home. I may also look into replacing CT1 Kariya as it's not quite the same grade as the other cards in the lot.
#3. 1994-95 Score - Dream Team DT
The 24 cards in this set were randomly inserted into all Score U.S. product at the rate of 1:36 packs. The cards feature a holographic image on the front which must be angled properly in the light, along with player name and the 1994 Dream Team logo. A full colour photo and player information appear on the back. The cards are numbered with a "DT" prefix.
All of the sets so far in this thread came from the same seller on Facebook. He was honest in that 4 of the singles had surface damage and would need to be replaced, and gave me a helluva deal on the set in light of this: Potvin, Stevens, Coffey and Lemieux.
#4. 1994-95 Score - The Franchise
The 26 cards in this set were random inserted into Score U.S. hobby product at the rate of 1:72 packs. The cards feature red printing and gold foil on the card face. A largely black and white action shot, with the player's head and torso punched out in full colour, dominates the car5d front. Cards are numbered with a TF prefix on the back. The backs also feature a colour photo with text information.
#5. 1994-95 Score - Check It
The 18 cards in this set were randomly inserted into Score Canadian hobby product at the rate ofg 1:72 packs.
This was the deal maker for me! All five of these sets came from the same seller in a Facebook group. I had this subset complete in 2019 and I paid more for those 18 cards in 2018-19 (before selling them off as singles) than I did for the ENTIRE LOT of this post!
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to come with me as I dive into something other than 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro.
There is more stuff incoming. So please watch/follow my thread to get the newer replies. Thank you.
