Recently, I again got PSA to grade 12 cards of my collection. The result was considerably lower grades than expected and what appears to be grades inconsistent with their stated grading system.

My question to all of you is ... do you think PSA is artificially grading harder thus giving lower grades than say even 5 years ago ....
My curiousity is thinking, too many high grades all ready and they may not want to diminsh the record of say only 10 in existence of PSA 9 etc, any thoughts? Maybe other reasons.

Caveat, although not a professional grader, I have more than enough PSA, SGC, BVG graded cards to know something is different ...

I believe the grading companies dole out much higher grades to their customers that send in hundreds upon hundreds of cards for grading. I don't believe they use a uniform system for grading, at all. It's whatever a particular grader has decided what he wants to grade a card.

How many times do you see on eBay a seller that has a plethora of 9.5/10 graded cards?

I think this might be true. There are 2 or 3 US sellers on eBay that constantly pump out hundreds upon hundreds of PSA 9 and PSA 10 cards (modern and old) and it drives me insane when I submit and I get an 8 for the same cards I've seen graded a 10 with worse condition.

PS. modern cards for PSA are a joke. I've owned several 10's that had VERY visible flaws on them.
