Hi everyone, I just have a question about an item that I thought I had bought already:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221206106455?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

So I contacted the seller after the auction because I hadn't seen it till the last minute and sent him the money last Thursday through paypal, I was excited to be getting my first Weight 1/1.

He sent me an email Yesterday saying he needed my address though I know paypal asked for which address I wanted to send him (I'm on the border so I have an American address but live in Canada). I gave my Canadian address and everything was still fine, I got this response :

"will ship tomorrow.no tracking.card will come in regular,letter envelope.thanks."

I said it was alright though I hate the letter envelope idea.. "Okay sounds good, Thanks for the heads up. Just if you could please put something hard alongside the card OR tape the 2 top loaders together so nothing happens to them, thanks"

Now here's where I ran into a problem...... Now wants too : "I do not ship to Canada.shipping 1 card is $35-55 dollars.that is why I am using an envelope.if shipping is to much tomorrow.i will refund your $___ thanks."

I don't know whether to just roll with it and give him my American address and pay an extra $10 to cross the border and get it being a 1/1 and all. Or just ask for the refund knowing that the shipping for the 1 hockey card Isn't $35-$55 .... I know shipping went up but come on... All I asked for was the cards to get tapped together so nothing happens. If he had asked for an extra $10 to ship to Canada fine, but I HATE nothing more than dealing with dishonest trying to take advantage of me... Though he is offering a refund.

Maybe someone from the states may even tell me he's not wrong and I wouldn't be so disappointed and I know people's input's will be different but any would help me right now as I'm going to have to decide by tomorrow.
Thanks to all that took the time!
Jake

Shipping in a bubble mailer is no more than $8 including the cost of the top loader, team bag and bubble mailer. He's lying, unless he plans on shipping using registered mail, which even then is only around $15.00-18.00.

Okay, Thanks guys, I kinda figured he was off his rocker on this one but had no first hand experience.. but being a 1/1 I guess I'm curious if you guys would :

1) just ship it to my American address and pay an extra $10 (cross the border n pickup), not say anything about him trying to take advantage.

2) Or ask for refund because my shipping cost went up $35-55 because I asked for my top loaders to be taped together if it's letter mail.

I was more insulted than anything and thinking of asking for the refund because the seller became difficult after he found out it was already purchased for the price he asked to be shipped. I would have payed for the extra shipping and for a roll of tape if he had asked, but he didn't have to lie.

What did the shipping info say, did it specifically specify no shipping over the border or what? Sounds like hes jut trying to get a little extra money out of the deal

Shipping is under 7 buck to ship from America to Canada. Like BruinsFan08 said just about 8 if you take everything into consideration.

Okay thanks guy's, His listings were actually listed free shipping and "Shipping:
Varies based on location and shipping method" ...

After having you guys confirm it's $8 at most though for bubble mailer I have a good idea how to handle this. I'll just offer him an extra $8 if he feels like shipping it directly and give him the option to send it to my other address if he feels the $8 is too low but make sure that he's sending bubble mailer or take the refund.

Thanks, appreciate your time

You can also notify EBAY that he is asking for extra money or charging abnormally high shipping rates. Perhaps he doesn't know that the new rates to Canada include tracking and delivery confirmation. Have you explained that to him?

$8 is for basic shipping that isn't trackable. If he's trying to cover his (_|_) he would either want to send via registered which would tack on another $12 or so, bringing the total up to $20 or he would send via express mail which is $35. For a $20 item I would think that the $8 option would work.

That's no longer true. If you print your label through Paypal or Ebay tracking is included. You use USPS tracking until it leaves the US and Canada Post to track it from there.
