Well; when a new product comes out, or when we have a little money in our pockets at the Truro market, we play "the game." "The Game" consists of us opening packs of a product and seeing who can pull the best piece out of the packs (kind of like a pack war, only everyone keeps what they pull and the winner gets bragging rights). We did this with Mini Jersey about a month ago; and while the other guys did a few packs each, I tried one pack of the product and pulled the Crosby Variant Jersey; one of the best pulls from the jersey side of the product without venturing into the auto/jerseys.
Well, the game happened today with SP Authentic and with everything going on and the prices for the boxes taking off; I knew I wasn't going to be able to purchase a box this year. So, as I watched the guys pick away at a new box; I didn't see a single auto come out of the box. So, with thirteen packs left in the box, I make my move and buy two packs; hauling a Jari Kurri SP Notables out of the packs. Another pack went by and no auto came out, so I figured I'd give it another stab, and I hit a mini-jackpot, pulling a Jonathan Toews Sign of the Times!!! Without saying; the game ended right there (the seller left with eight packs in his box and two autos).
Meanwhile, one of the guys, being a guy that has been nailing down some nice stuff recently made me an offer on the card. After thinking about a few of them, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

A beautiful card of an upcoming goalie, and a nice two color patch to boot with a nice fat seem.
But that was only icing on the cake.
