I bought a few packs of 98-99 BAP All-Star yesterday, the ones with 1 auto per pack. I opened one pack and there was no auto. I looked at the card backs and realized I had card #140 Markus Naslund, with the usual congrats, you have received a card personally autographed...blah, blah. But no auto on the front, nothing. I e-mailed ITG and was told they would do nothing. I sent an e-mail back saying, OK, I'll sign the front and you'll guarentee thats Naslunds auto, like the back says? Should they take the card back and replace it with something, I know they probably don't have anymore of this card. Or not do anything? I say, it looks bad for them, because I'll trade it and if someone else who doesn't care signs some sig on it, ITG are saying it's authentic, but knows it's not and doesn't care !!! Just wanted to know other's opinions!

You have got to be kidding me - right???

I can't think of any company in the world that would stand behind a product you just bought ...... almost 9 years after it's release????? Not only does ITG provide EXAMPLARY Customer Service - They have always gone above and beyond. However in this instance you are using using twisted logic to explain your stance. If it contained one of the Jersey's - should they replace it also if it was somehow creased ????

There is always a risk of buying older price-slashed boxes, and this is one of them. Please do not drag ITG through the mud for this ridiculous stance.

Relax!!! I'm not dragging ITG through the mud. This is just a discussion, like the forum says "Hobby Talk"!!!! As for the GU you mentioned, what if there were no swatch there, I'm not talking a crease in the card here, there's no auto!!!!

If it were a redemption "almost nine years later" I'd say ITG has no responsibility there. But since it was an error an their part not to put any signature on it then in the very least they should send out some kind of autographed replacement. Try sending another email suggesting just that.
Good luck.

I agree with this. If it was a redemption, then I'd say they don't have to do anything beyond their 2 year coverage period... which you well exceeded. However, this was simply an autograph goof-up. I am surprised they weren't willing to send you some sort of autograph or jersey replacement for that card... not necessarily from the same product or Naslund, but at least something in exchange. I guess it also depends on the tone you used when e-mailing the company... and if you provided front/back scans to show this card should have been signed.

Nine years is a long time, but I would think they'd like the chance to pull a card like that from circulation, if nothing else.

send it back what's the worse that would happen, you get the same card back, or maybe they'll send you something

That must have been brutal to pull that but I have to agree with everyone else. It's just too old of a product. ITG has done nothing but put the collectors first....we all know that. Sorry ,but it's just bad luck

This, just isn't the case,
they do not always go above and beyond,
they for the most part, complete the bare minimum.

On more than one occasion have I been left wanting by their CS.

As much as I love pulling damaged cards, and then spending an extra 5$ to send them back to be replaced, and just receive the replacement.

I'm not saying I expect something, but when I have to spend more money to fix your problems, well, it's nice when the effort it put forth to stand behind their product, see UD with their crosby showdown cards, etc.

or they keep and and say nothing.

and for the record,
I think they're right in this instance,

while it would be nice if they would send out some random naslund card to pull an obvious mistake on their behalf, regardless of how old, they have no real obligation to a product this aged.

Nine years is a great deal of time, but I believe the company should want to remove this from circulation and offer some compensation to do so. Like he said, any joe could sign the card and ITG is certifying that its authentic.

I think it would benefit both parties to get rid of the card, if that mean ITG offers a little something to destroy it so be it.

What Naslund card do you think they would send back? Without a license, they likely can not send out a Vancouver Canucks card even if they had it in stock. I don't think Naslund has signed for them since they lost the license (anyone feel free to correct me here).

Since you pulled a Vancouver card, would you be happy with a non licensed card as a replacement? I doubt you would be. Keep it in your collection as an oddball, or better, find a Naslund fan who might want the card as is. I don't think ITG is responsible NINE YEARS after the product debuted. Someone else said it, it's the risk you take in buying older product.
