So, are we all supposed to hate Milan Lucic now?

I'm not saying that Brown was in the right either; he definitely started the fight. Doesn't mean Lucic had to punch him repeatedly when he was down.

Im not disagreeing with you, what lucic did was questionable (at the least). But he didnt stomp on his leg or slash him to the face. He served him pancakes and a side of homefries.

Judging the incident alone, yes lucic was in the wrong, but seeing the whole situation and why lucic was so angry, more power to him. Just watch the next 30 seconds of the clip. No fighting morals begets no fighting morals IMO.

Reminds me of a story my grandma told me years ago, about how she and her friend stole apples from a farmers orchard and made a couple pies. The farmer came back and stole the pies from her windowsill, and she couldnt do anything about it because she stole the apples in the first place.

So anyway what were we talking about? Oh right apples.... huh?
 
What video are some of you watching? There weren't a multitude of unsuspecting punches thrown. By the time Brown gets his first and only punch in, Lucic's gloves are already off and he's in the process of getting a grip on Brown's jersey. By that time, anything thrown should be expected.

Anywho, I can see Lucic seriously injuring someone in a fight. He gets wayyyy too pumped up. Like Chadsexington said last page, he probably doesn't even realize what he's doing. It wouldn't surprise me if he does some real damage one of these days.

Well Put. This was uncalled for. If everyone in the league thinks Cal Clutterbuck is a goon well Lucic Is more of a goon than Clutterbuck and I don't even consider clutterbuck a goon. You just dont keep hitting someone when he's going down
 
I think he was pissed because after getting bumped by Sheldon Brookbank in front of the net, Mike Brown jabbed him in the face with his gloved hand.
 
I think Lucic's upper body injury could be from getting somewhat cross-checked in the jaw before Brown came in. You could see him rubbing his mouth in the penalty box on NESN. I don't agree with what Lucic did 100% but to call him a goon is not warranted. Last I checked a goon was someone that ONLY plays to fight and go after guys. Maybe the definition is different now but when you have a guy that is 2nd or 3rd on his team in fights and has a chance for a 20 goal, 50 point season I think labeling him a goon makes the person calling him that look worse.
 
I can't believe this required it's own thread. These kinda things happen all the time. It was a fight in the NHL. One guy instigated it, the other got mad and finished it. Move on people...

He didn't get crosschecked in the face, he got crosschecked in the chest area and then got a bit of a facewash. He was probably rubbing his jaw because of the punch from Brown right to his jaw. That was actually a pretty clean blow that seemed to connect pretty well. It probably would have dropped a lot of other people.
 
I don't think it's that big a deal. If Brown was hurt or ko'd then it would be a different story. I have dvds of guys like Dave Brown and Behn Wilson hammering guys while they were ko'd on there back. Man I miss the old days :beer:

i checked on youtube and didnt see any lucic scraps with anyone id be afraid of
no boogey man no laroque no carillo
not saying hed lose but i sure hope when he does someone cracks him half a dozen times when hes laying on his back
dont get me wrong im not into hand holding and skipping
i like the tough stuff as much as anyone
but the guys with class dont beat on each other when the other guy hits the ground
look at any of the toughest guys that played watch their fights youll see

No need to get chippy about it, it's easier to read and the poster commands better attention if the post looks intelligible.
 
If you start the video at 1:10, he gets puch in the face by # 21, face wash by #13 and a glove in the face by # 25 by the time the video gets to 1:15.

He made his point he wont take this abuse.The guy fell before he could reply, he was pumped.
