Hi there, 17 year old son and i are headed to TO Mar 17 to see the Raptors the next day. Assuming our flight gets in on time, any good places outside of ticketmaster and stubhub to try to get leafs tickets for that night?

so itinerary is
arrive TO 2 pm Mar 17, go check into hotel downtown (not booked yet any suggestions)
get tickets for leafs game that night, yell our heads off
back to hotel sleep in
Friday lunch time head out, any sportscard stores in the area worth going to ?
go to raptors game as early as possible to get whole experience game is at 7 pm
Saturday sleep in, go to hockey hall of fame from noon to close, head back to airport for late flight back to winnipeg

was thinking of going to CN tower to see the aquarium and tower prior to raptors game depending on if there are any worthy stores in the area.

Any other must sees in the downtown?

thank you

Hockey Hall of Fame?

Whenever I go to Toronto next, that is definitely on my list of things to do. Have fun at the game and on the trip!

I just typed this massive message but thought it might be more helpful via PM instead, so, PM incoming.

Here are my answers..

HOTEL: Lots of options downtown close to the arena. To be honest, everything is walking distance, just get one with a good rate..

Shops:

if you are looking for singles, downtown doesnt have much. shops like 401 games which is a 20 minute train ride north but no singles. Red Nails is about 20 mins to the west but no singles at that location.
Total sports is in Etobicoke and has singles but you are looking at a 20 minute go train (union to longbranch) + 15 minute walk to the shop.

Eating: If you love steak, go to HYs steakhouse.. but it all depends on what you like to eat. LOTS of options downtown.

I live downtown and have some corporate codes. If you want you can PM me the dates you need and budget and I can see what prices I can get. I assume you want Thursday check in and Saturday check out?

There are no stores worth checking out near CN Tower and Aquarium. Downtown there's 401games near Yonge and Bloor and Dolly's whcih is in China town.

ok first of all thank you to everyone that has responded!

Delta lower simcoe shows no rooms for the dates i require (Mar 17-19). Any other thoughts? looking at Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel

as to sportscards stores, not critical, i may plan another trip to go to the national.

thank you ALL!

What are you using to book? I see rooms from 249 a night for a king bed for those dates at the Delta.

EDIT: Toronto MAriott Center I see 203 a night. There's cheaper options if you prepay too for any hotel.

Trip was awesome, got in around 3 pm on thursday, train to the hotel including wait time was under an hour, booked in at the delta lower simcoe. Great room, didn’t understand how close it was to cn tower, arena aquarium etc.
ordered makers pizza as soon as we got into hotel (a little greasy for me, but really tasty, I’d order again we had dr pepperoni and garlic bread).

Got tickets to the leafs game at Center ice first row of balcony. Great game with my kid cheering for the canes….everybody wearing green st pats jerseys

Got home hit the hay , slept in till 11 got up headed for breakfast at Siempre breakfast bar (was good). Then walked to the hall of fame for 3.5 hours. We could have stayed longer, but came home had a bit of a nap and decided we would eat at the raptors game. Each had a hotdog, I had a $22 Heineken tall boy as well lmao. Game was fantastic , seats again were Center third row balcony. Wrong guys won, but OT and Lebron made some hero shots. Went back to the hotel and ordered late night Chinese food , yummy.
Plan was to go to cn tower and aquarium last day with 10 pm flight home. Heavy fog and rain, visibility was halfway up tower so that was out. Headed to aquarium and was told booked til 6 pm …..I’m a ******* and didn’t preorder tickets. We headed back to the hotel, had 1 pm checkout, so breakfast at the hotel and then chilled in the room for a bit. Headed to the rec room arcade about 300 yards from the hotel and played games for 4 hours. Exhausted after that we went back to hotel, picked up bags and took train to the airport. Had smash burgers and fries and then watched movies on our phones until flight home.

Sad we missed iconic Toronto sights but had a hell of a trip and I’d go back in a heartbeat. It was really fun and memories forever.

I’d like to thank everyone for the suggestions in public and through pm, they were appreciated. It was short but absolutely worth it
