Top 3 players: How are they still in the NHL?

Man...some of you guys have been much harsher than I expected on some very decent talent in the league.

I dislike Recchi quite a bit, but the guy is a HOFer. Weight is also quite a talent, and a very nice guy.

Tom Poti is even a real decent player(although overpaid) and I also liked Daze before his back injuries. Havlat is also top notch, but is an eggshell of a man.

I am surprised nobody jumped all over Manny Malholtra, Gratton..someone actually defended KILGER. Geeze.

Malhotra has been in the league since he was 18(and sent back to junior at 19), and has had some terrible seasons yet he still ends up in the lineup.

here are his stats from a swedish league during the lockout...he couldnt even do anything there!!!

2004-05 HV71 Jonkoping SEL 20 5 2 7 16

G- Dan Cloutier
D- Andy Wozniewski
D- Anders Eriksson
F- Andrew Peters
F- Cam Janssen
F- Jordin Tootoo

figured i'd make an allstar team

That,s easy being a TOR fan
the obvious Raycroft = Too many sunburns
Antropov =too many Booboos not enough results
and Macabe=too many giveaways(was he REALLY playing for TOR??)

Easy though maybe not fair as my pool for deadbeats is so DEEP here

Todd Fedoruk - served one purpose, and can't do that without a trip to the ER
Jaroslav Modry - makes Derian Hatcher look like a bronze medalist in olympic sped skating, and makes passes that make Cammy Granato look like Wayne Greztky.
Hal Gill - 8 foot a billion and can't knock over Spezza.

Zednik as the the 4th worst nhler? Thats a terrible choice. He is still a third line power play guy.Look at the leafs roster before having him 4th.

There are many people you can go with here. These are the ones I question

1 Derian Hatcher....Effective in the old game,pre 04
2 Ryan Hollweg......????? What are the leafs thinking
3 Chris Simon.......Just a loose cannon. Too many league altercations

As for McCabe.....He deserves to be in the NHL,just not in Tor. Maybe a new team picks up his game

Tootoo should be good for 10 goals and 100 PIM coming off the 4th line. Toronto and Vancouver should be thrilled if any of their 3rd liners produce that.

Haha, speaking of Friesen... he's in San Jose on a tryout... He was a fan favorite here in the early 90's

Jamie Lundmark (though he's a year removed)
Jeff Friesen (Hang them up!)
Teppo Numminen (After multiple surgeries, is his heart still in it?)

Honorable Mention: Chris Chelios

WA WA WEE WA! I like!

I don't think some people properly bothered to read the question. Or they let hatred of a certain player severely affect their judgement. Or they had no judgement to start with.

F- Crosby
F- Ovechkin

LOL, I agree with the Chris Simon and Andrew Peters, they don't bring much to the table. Chris Gratton was a also a huge bust. Pretty funny that Buffalo traded Chris Gratton to Phoenix in a deal to get Briere. Wow, that deal worked out in Buffalo's favor lol..

#1 - Ryan Hollweg
#2 - Derian Hatcher
#3 - Martin Havlat

martin havlat?? when he's not injured he's a first liner capable of putting up 40 goals a year. not to mention he's 27!?! its pretty much common knowledge around the league that his injury at the end of 05-06 was the only reason he hasnt put up 100 points yet. this year with kane teows and havlat on a line, watch out.

While Havlat may only be 27 fact is he has never scored 40 goals (31 career high nothing close after that), never played a full season (averages around 58 gp per season), and never lived up to the potential even when surrounded with talent. That being said he certainly still doesn't belong on a list of guys that shouldn't be in the NHL. There is a mountain of worthless scrubs that belong on the list long before Havlat.
