Hi,
I’m not all that familiar of how Facebook works with doing sports cards.
As when it comes to sports cards I have only dealt w 2 forums (HI & blowoutsports) I’ve been talking with someone abt making a trade over Facebook. I’m sure there are members here who have done purchases or sales this way…however how abt trades? As I’m a bit nervous abt doing this as I trust sites such as HobbyInsider for such things as this.
Any info would be much appreciated.
thanks

Not sure what to say other than I've done a lot of FB deals (probably 2x as many there as compared to this forum), many without "vouches" (buyer or seller) and fortunately, every deal I've done has worked out. I paid with PayPal with the exception of a couple in-person deals, and everything went perfect. Honestly, ask for vouches if you feel something is in doubt. Look at the seller's activity in the given FB group (you can search by name( and just get a "feel" for you you are dealing with. I've done up to a $300 US card and it all went smooth. Sometimes I've even done repeat deals with the same person. YMMV. G'luck!

The only way to make deals through facebook is to join a group and then ask for references if they are required. I have done several, some of them pretty high end and had no issues.

Join "Sportscard Scammers Exposed" as an added layer of protection. I have done a few deals on FB with no issues but I did dodge one scammer by referencing his name in that group and found that he had ripped others off.

I might be old fashioned but I have always preferred the forums. I'm not a fan of facebook in general. And I find the posts flash by so fast I can't be bothered looking through all them. I have done hundreds of trades on here and maybe 3 on facebook in the last 5 years

Try searching Facebook for sports card groups in your area. Or if you have a local card store see if they have a trading group on Facebook. That way your trades can local and in person.
