Really getting to be quite obnoxious between the UD bashers ,the ITG nose brownies which soon will be the same people kissing up to pannini .

Guy and gals look at your PC and honestly which actually look's to be the better ?

My vote Upper Deck all the way .

I like some of my ITG cards and I like some of my UD cards. My criticisms aren't based on likes or dislikes of cards, they're generally based on the business practices of companies.

By the way, calling people "nose brownies" isn't going to get you far on these forums and will dramatically decrease the life expectancy of your threads / posts.

I'd love to look at my UD cards but they are all redemptions.

[seriously, I bought in 3 tmes the amount of UD boxes in 09-10 than I did ITG as no ITG product had the players or concepts that *I'm* looking for - 1972 was the closest but I wasn't born yet - if Dr. Price does do a second year that's say, 1980, I might do more ITG than UD in 10-11 but we will see]

The original poster has a point, for the most part I do find that UD cards are (in my eyes) better looking cards in many cases when it comes to card design HOWEVER ITG usually has better game used pieces in the card, so that has to be considered as well.

Ultimately, like Chris said, it's not so much the design of the cards that has us complaining about UD, it's the business practices that they have.

All 3 will have some great value and different types of cards. Its really a matter on which types of cards you want.

Personally, I like UD cards better and I'm more likely to bust a box of UD product than ITG, but I still appreciate what ITG is doing with the hand they've been dealt. Just that their products don't necessarily appeal to me.

Panini will get a fair shake from me as well when the time comes.

I can buy that. We know the issues with UD but what is missing from all of these complaints/comparisons of late is "Why doesnt ITG have a license with the NHLPA"? Do you really think that the NHPLA turned companies away because it liked UD products more, or was there a financial issue that was on the table as well...like royalities etc? I don't know the answer, but something here doesn't make sense to me.

ITG design and cards have more or less looked the same for 3-4 years now across all its brands. It does absolutely nothing for me.

My favourite was last year's BTP, otherwise there hasn't been a ITG product I've been gaga over, not since they lost their license.

I do however appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into making their cards. It's just too bad I don't find them collectible at all.

Um... do you remember PRO-SET? :)

So you thought the best thing to do was to start this thread? I have a feeling it would have gotten a lot more obnoxious if this thread continued.

Pretty sure that Bruce said no more of these type of threads. They never end well, they always run the same pattern...train wreck.

I am locking it down, if Bruce wants to reopen it he can.

Good call Scott, and I'll reinforce the point:

It's ok if you like ITG and don't like UD, or vice versa, or hate them both and love Panini. Really, it's fine. The hobby's plenty big enough to support whatever likes and dislikes you care to curry. And it's no skin off your nose either way if the next collector over has different likes and dislikes. I have said it before, I will say it again now:
Collect what YOU like. If we all liked the same things, Baskin-Robbins could make one flavour and call it a day.

No more bashing. If need be, I will start reinforcing the point with suspensions.
