Vegas Golden Knights

As long as they don't look like C3PO on skates, I am fine with it.
Still irks me that they put a team in Vegas.. meh.. as long as they can pay their own way..

Its because locals do not refer to the city as Las Vegas, rather just Vegas.

Living there for a while and having family there everyone refers to it as that..."Vegas."

Its the kinda the same thing with people from Philadelphia (where I was also born). If you ask people from there where they are from they will say "Philly" not Philadelphia.

I guess it was there way of trying to make it feel more like their (people of Vegas) team.
 
I like that they used Vegas Gold as part of the color scheme to go along with the name. The incorporation of the V in the knight helmet is sweet, and the logo all around looks great. Well done, IMO.
 
I preferred Desert Knights but then you run the chance of people writing Dessert Knights and that just doesn't have the same feel

I'm good with the name and the logo isn't bad. I know a lot grumbled it looks more like a spartan helmet but marketing is everything and as Bill said, they incorporated the "V" into the logo. Well done.

The jerseys will be a big make or break point, well, that and performance.

Wonder when the jerseys will release?
 
They mentioned there would be red in the secondary color scheme... I'm wondering if they'll wait until the expansion draft to show the jerseys... when they actually have some players to fill them out.

To me, the name and logo reek of low-level NCAA sports. I've never felt so underwhelmed at this sort of thing before. I will be awaiting the next iteration of the logo.

Regardless, should be fun to see who's on their team.

I did wonder if the "Desert/Dessert" concern was what kept the better name down. But yet Los Angeles has the Lakers, so... I'm never sure what motivates nicknames.

Had they been the Dessert Knights, they could have introduced a promotion with Keith Tkachunk and Martin Brodeur (I kid, I kid...)

The Lakers moved to LA from Minneapolis.
 
We will make the trip to gamble a bit, see a show or two, and see the Blackhawks. Flight and tickets to the Vegas team will probably be cheaper then trying to see the Hawks in Vancouver which is only a 90 minute drive north.....
 
I'm cool with the name. We'll get used to it.

As for the logo, would rather see more colors because all this is really important is how many colors their patches will yield. :D

But that shoulder patch looks awesome with the red star and I really like how they tied it to the welcome to Vegas sign.
