Vegas Golden Knights

The logo doesn't really feel like a sports logo to me - first impression is it looks like a security company's logo... I get that with the owner's military background he had something probably more serious in mind than say Panini's cartoonish knight logo, but it just feels rather cold and lacking in personality to me. Found Puck Daddy's take on it rather amusing that it reminded him both of Magneto and Boba Fett :)

I'm cool with the name. We'll get used to it.

As for the logo, would rather see more colors because all this is really important is how many colors their patches will yield. :D

But that shoulder patch looks awesome with the red star and I really like how they tied it to the welcome to Vegas sign.

There's talk that there will be red accents throughout the jersey, like on the numbers, even though the color isn't represented on the logo. That could spice up the number patches at least.

As much as I agree that other cities seemed to provide better options, I like the logo. I've seen the various predictions of jersey looks and I really hope they're wrong. Another black n yellow team would be a lunch bag letdown.

You're asking that question, I'm asking why they put in "golden." LOL

I think it would be much better as just Knights

I believe the London Knights hold the license on the name in Canada so the Vegas team wouldn't be allowed to use it. At least that's what I read somewhere.

They'll just work out an agreement with the College (pay them) and have them accept the TM

Might not even be that complicated I would think. One would assume that if they can justify that there is enough separation /non competition between a mid-west Professional Hockey Team and an eastern NCAA Division II school that shows flashes of brilliance in women's soccer, they'll win an appeal. I'm sure the various sports franchises that share names have gone through the same process in the past.

The guy at the patent office is probably just spot checking names and not looking into histories, etc.

It seems fairly bush league on the part of the Golden Knights given all the other problems they've had to date but I don't think this is a battle they'll lose.

My old high school needs to get in on this action...we were the Miami Sunset Golden Knights...don't want them confused with the NHL team!

Why aren't they just the "Knights"? I know the London Knights exist, but we have the Red/White Sox (both spelled Sox). We have 2 Giants teams (NY and SF), 2 Cardinals (AZ and STL), 2 Kings (LA and Sacramento)... Panthers, Rangers, Jets etc. None seemed to have an issue.
