Who's watching?

Rumours circulating that Tatanka is scheduled to run in for the main event tonight at Freddie Blassie's request and cause Bruno Sammartino to lose the title which will result in a program over the summer leading into triple threat scaffold match with Tito Santana at Starrcade.

to quote my 8 year old son "I am sitting on the couch all day to prepare for the grandest stage of them all". He is stoked and his enjoyment makes me enjoy even more. My wife even took a vacation day tomorrow so he can stay up all until the end. So he gets wrestlemania and a long weekend.

I haven't been able to watch all of the show yet (had errands last night) but am looking forward to catching the rest of it hopefully tonight...

I watched the first few matches....

Meh.

Nice pop for SCSA though. I couldn't get over the amount of botched moves though. I guess that's what happens when you throw wrestlers together for no reason and don't give them any time to work on the match. The Styles/Jericho match was disappointing.

It was fun to watch either way. Way too long though. I don't remember the last time a PPV had that much of an overrrun. Halloween Havoc 98 maybe?

Anybody watch the hall of fame induction ceremony? I just finished Stan Hansen's induction speech. He and Vader put on another 30 minute classic there for a different reason. I feel like they both named off every single person they've ever known lol.

What was the final running time? We'll continue watching tonight, but first priority is The Walking Dead. It's killing me to NOT be surfing social media, because I am afraid to see any spoilers for either TWD or WM32. At this point, the only remaining matches at WM that pique my interest is Shane-O-Mac/Taker, Charlotte/BeckyLynch/Sasha (although I do know the winner in that match) and the Battle Royal. Not interested in the slightest in Lesnar/Ambrose or HHH/Reigns.

I've never watched the HOF ceremony. I always felt it was a bit of a sham. Not even sure who was being inducted this year?

Freebirds speach was so great.

Oddly, I always watch the HOF induction... The way I look at it though is it is a chance for that superstar to be the center of attention again... and while some of the choices may seem odd, if the wrestlers can appreciate it, why not.

Wrestling inductees this year were:
Stan Hansen
Jacqueline
The Big Boss Man
The Godfather
The Fabulous Freebirds
Sting

Final run time for the event was 4:45... intros for the main event basically started at the four hour mark when it was supposed to be done... almost messed up my PVR recording...

The only thing I really disliked about the inductions was giving the mike to Nature Boy for another induction... he can't stay on topic, forgets what he's doing, and goes into full promo mode for himself (and now his daughter)... the guy is a legend, don't get me wrong, and I know it is the wrestlers choice to pick whom they want to do the induction, but they should do themselves and Flair a favour and not have him do any more long speeches.

Yep noticed this as well.

I think we clocked it at 4 hours and 49 minutes for the PPV itself.

The actual in-ring wrestling on the PPV was around 2 hours and 20 minutes so it was a pretty good split. Every match on the PPV except for the Andre Battle Royal was at least 10 min long.

As for HOFs...I love that side of the business so it's right up my alley lol

Finished watching last night, although I skipped the main event. Although Taker/Shane was a train wreck, (and proof positive that Undertaker needs to retire, STAT), the elbow off the top of the cage made the whole show for me. Kudos to Shane for taking a bump like that, when he has been retired from the active roster as long as he has. There are guys on the roster half his age who would not even think of attempting that, because no matter how you plan that out, it has got to HURT.

The Divas match was fantastic, save for a few botched moves (Sasha's attempted double sunset flip comes to mind). The Battle Royale was excrutiatingly bad (Tatanka? Shaq? Really?), although glad to see Corbin surprise everybody. Hopefully they don't bury him like they have done with the Ascension, Tyler Breeze and Bo Dallas.

The sad thing is, other than the nostalgia factor from many of the Attitude Era stars, it was rather underwhelming. Raw last night was off the hook though. Great to see so many NXT stars make the jump last night. Enzo and Cass especially. Now they just need Bayley to make the leap....
